This being one of the so called "Ormond Hill Specimens" when in 1861 Perkins Bacon supplied 6 examples of many of their current & earlier issues to Rowland Hill's son-in-law. Despite the fact that all these stamps were obliterated with "CANCELLED" h/s, the Agent-General for Crown Colonies vehemently objected, & this led directly to Perkins Bacon losing their stamp printing contracts to Thomas De La Rue. VF appearance with some flts at top. SG 99(var) see footnote cat £11,000+ & especially desirable with such a large portion of the h/s.
