Abstract
Nowadays, wired and wireless networks are being used by many companies. In this diploma thesis one of the branches of wireless networks, wireless LAN’s, are researched.
Introduction chapter is about the history and developmnet of wireless communication and networks, and their advantages and disadvantages.
First chapter dels with logical and physical architecture of wireless networks. The advantages of wireless networks have been explained. The information about elements of wireless networks have been given. Finally, in this chapter there is some information about the opinions about the future of wireless networks.
Second chapter is about wireless LAN’s. It deals with wireless LAN types as Radio-based, Infrared light and Carrier current LANs. Also, there information about wireless LAN standards.
Last chapter is about designing wireless networks and important points of design. Finally there some case studies of wireless networks.
