The neusta mobile solutions GmbH (NEUSTA) does consulting and application development for mobile devices. These devices are e.g. Smartphones, Webtablets, and Wearables. NEUSTA founded in 2004 is a joint venture of team neusta (www.team-neusta.de) and the Universitaet Bremen.
The development of client specific software, the introduction of standard software, IT-consulting, Business intelligence, SAP, Online Marketing, Cloud Engineering and more are topics the group is dealing with. The close cooperation with the center of computing and communication technology of the Universitaet Bremen TZI allows NEUSTA to participate in research projects. Here the focus is on software development in fields like knowledge based mobile security, user interface design in wearable computing using data mining methods and application of machine learning in ambient assisted living applications and cloud computing.
The company contributed within the FP6 IP wearIT@work (www.wearITatwork.com) to the software framework development with the knowledge based wearable user interface toolkit. Within the national funded project FIDeS (www.fides-security.org) on knowledge based intrusion detection system NEUSTA worked on the knowledge based attack sequence recognizer and the user interface. In the Help-AAL project (www.help-project-parkinson.com) an activity recognition predictor was the contribution of NEUSTA. In the EC funded project REMPARK (www.rempark.eu) NEUSTA worked as in Help-AAL on personal health systems focussing on activity recognition and the user interface design. This is also the focus in the 4th Joint AAL Call projects ASSAM (http://assam.nmshost.de) and SafeMove (www.safemove-project.eu). With the national funded AUTONOMIK 4.0 project InSA (www.insa-projekt.de) NEUSTA started with the development of safe and secure software for human-robot collaboration. Cloud computing applications developed by NEUSTA are those for companies like UI anmd AIRBUS.
Michael Lawo is one of the two managing directors of NEUSTA. He is with TZI (Centre for Computing and Communication Technology) of Universität Bremen since 2004. He is professor for applied computer science involved in numerous projects of wearable computing and artificial intelligence. He is a 1975 graduate of Ruhr- Universitaet- Bochum, got his PhD in 1981 from Essen University and became professor there in 1992. He has more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry in different management positions, and is author, co-author and co-publisher of eight books and more than 150 scientific papers on numerical methods and computer applications also in healthcare, optimization, IT-security and wearable computing.
Holger Bothmer is the other managing director of NEUSTA since 2009 after being there a senior consultant since 2006 there. He received his diploma degree in digital image processing and neural networks by Universitaet Bremen in 1994. He was after that in different companies in Germany and the United States of America working as a project manager, systems architect and analyst, director of business consulting and product development. His EC project experience dates back to 2006 with projects like wearIT@work, Help-AAL, REMPARK, ASSAM and SafeMove.
