To chair and assemble a nominating committee as indicated by the time line in the chapter bylaws (currently by February)
To train future leaders for chapter administration and committees
To solicit program speakers for upcoming year in coordination with Director of Programming

Job Description for
Chapter Board Immediate Past President
Serves as an advisor to the President and a mentor to the President-Elect and Board of Directors.
Term: Refer to chapter bylaws (currently one year)
Eligibility: Refer to chapter bylaws and policies (must be a member of NSA)
Foundational Responsibilities:
To review chapter bylaws, policy manual, and other documents
To review national bylaws and policies
To become familiar with mission, vision, and objectives of the chapter
To acquaint oneself with past Board business and policies by reading all minutes
To attend chapter board meetings fully informed about all issues to be discussed
To accept all specific assignments that result from board actions
To help formulate and establish policies in the best interest of the chapter members
To make decisions affecting the chapter financial structure and resource allocations and to approve the annual operating budget
To know the extent and limits of one's liability as a director
To help identify future leaders
To keep current with work of committees under his/her jurisdiction
