This contribution reports that there may be an issue with the precision of expression of the transfer characteristics functions specified in various video-related standards of SG16 and MPEG (including HEVC, AVC, and the "Coding-independent media code-points" of MPEG-B Part 8), and that this may have resulted in a small error in some equations obtained from (and expressed in) ITU-R BT.2020. It was suggested for the topic to be studied and for ITU-R WP6C to be consulted to determine the appropriate action.
