The exploration of constructional concepts of buildings and building types, processes and principles of construction involved in the building of structures is aimed throughout this course. Basically the elements of construction of masonry and skeleton structures are considered in relation to the nature of materials, dimensional standards and the principles of construction involved. Subjects of discussion include: walls (stone and brick), openings, slabs, ceilings (with relationship between slab and roof), structures of regular and mezzanine building floors, stairs, doors, windows.
