The contribution lists the many updates that were added to the Reference Software to make it in line with the Phase 1 text. The software is in the zip archive of the contribution.
It was the consensus of the Audio subgroup to take the contribution and make it RM5 of the Working Draft for MPEG-H Reference Software.

The contribution reports bug fixes in the Reference Software attached to m36531. The corrections pertained to:
-
Software header
-
HOAFrame() alignment
-
Window interpolation for HOA vector-based coding
-
Syntax bug in HOA layered coding
Some of the proposed fixes change the decoded waveforms, while some change bitstream and decoded waveforms.
Oliver Wiebolt, Technicolor, noted that the layered coding bug was Phase 2 software, and further wished to discuss and check the proposal.
It was the consensus of the Audio subgroup to take the “Phase 1” fixes proposed in the contribution and merge it into RM5 of the Working Draft for MPEG-H Reference Software.

The contribution proposes to change the FFT code in the binauralization engine of the Phase 1 RM. The change will result in only one FFT implementation being used in the 3D Audio code base. The contribution gave evidence that the change in FFT code resulted in rounding errors on the order of 10^(-15).
It was the consensus of the Audio subgroup to take the FFT fix proposed in the contribution and merge it into RM5 of the Working Draft for MPEG-H Reference Software.

At the 111th MPEG meeting it was decided to permit the variables kConv, kMax to be set at run time, e.g. in the parameterization configuration. However, this was not implemented in the reference software code base.
It was the consensus of the Audio subgroup to take the kConv, kMax fix proposed in the contribution and merge it into RM5 of the Working Draft for MPEG-H Reference Software.

The contribution proposes conformance points associated with the FD Binauralization and also proposes parameters that could be varied when defining conformance stream data.
First conformance test:
Inputs: BRIR waveforms
Outputs: FD/TD binaural parameter bitstream
Second conformance test:
Inputs: FD/TD binaural parameter bitstream, multi-channel signal waveforms
Outputs: 2-channel binauralized signal waveforms
Finally, it presented first thoughts on Conformance criterion, e.g. allowable differences for conformant implementations.
This will continue to be discussed.
