2MPEG-4 AVC

There was an industry request to define a new level 5.2 for AVC. Decoders at Level 5.2 will support 4k*2k progressive video at 60 Hz.
A High Profile supporting progressive video only was defined. It was concluded that a Progressive Main Profile is not necessary.

3MPEG-7 AVDP

Several broadcasters requested a new profile for MPEG-7 covering several aspects of Audio, Video and Systems (Figure 1). The main functionality of this audio visual description profile (AVDP) is describing the results of automatic media analysis with audio/video low-level features for audio-visual content. They are to be used for the archives of the broadcast industry. At this meeting, EBU presented several new users of this profile. The current work plan foresees the amendment to be finalized in 11/2011.
National Bodies of Japan and Switzerland suggested mainly editorial changes that MPEG implemented. At this meeting, MPEG promoted the profile to DAM N11827 Text of ISO/IEC 15938-9:2005/DAM1 Extensions to profiles and levels and issued N11828 DoC on ISO/IEC 15938-9:2005/PDAM1 Extensions to profiles and levels. Reference software will be added to the XM.
Work is progressed within the adhoc group N11843 AHG on Audio Visual Description Profile.
