Abstract:
This paper aims to promote a reflection over the pair theory and practice according to
the way the Discourse Analysis contributes to the formation of the teaching
professional. Perceiving the teaching practice as a discursive practice which connection
with the
theoretical contribution occurs in a wrong, incomplete and discontinuous way,
incomplete and discontinuous way, we seek to stimulate the discussion about how to
remedy the limitations of the applicability of this theory in the school context. In order
to do that, we conduct the analysis of a textbook chapter that deals with the relation
between discourse and text. Through the analysis, we observe how it is possible to take
Discourse Analysis' concepts into the classroom and how we can adapt materials that
are already circulating in schools to develop a closer learning on how knowledge is
produced. Finally, it is hoped that our proposal of teaching Discourse Analysis and also
using the Discourse Analysis will serve to develop a pedagogy that is intended to be
critical and transformative.
