Teacher:
Quiet now! So … who wants to be in the school
orchestra?
Pedro:
I do!
Teacher:
OK, Pedro. What can you play?
Pedro:
I can play the violin.
Alex:
And I can play the trumpet. And I want to learn the
trombone!
Teacher:
Very good, Alex. What about you, Emma?
Emma:
I can play the clarinet … and I can play the
saxophone.
Teacher:
What about the cymbals? Who can play the
cymbals?
Pedro:
I can try … hmm. No – not the cymbals. But I’d
love to play the drums. … I’d like to play the drums in
the school rock band.
Teacher:
OK. Who else would like to be in the rock band?
Emma:
Me. I’d like to play the electric guitar. I can play
the guitar, and I’d like to learn the electric guitar.
Alex:
And I’d like to play the keyboard … or I can learn
the flute.
Teacher:
OK. Thank you, Alex. Well, which do you all
want to join – the orchestra or the band?
Emma:
Can we join both?
