LIFE SKILLS
The athletic program at NCHS is organized to allow for the fullest possible participation for those students willing to make a definite commitment to interscholastic participation and competition. Participating in athletics is viewed by the school as a worthwhile endeavor which enhances the educational process. Participation in athletics is a privilege and, as such, carries certain expectations beyond those found in the normal classroom situation. The important goals of the athletic program are to offer students direction in developing healthful living habits, discipline, leadership, teamwork, citizenship skills and respect for structure, rules, and responsibilities. Every student chosen to be a member of an athletic program will be offered the opportunity to practice, and whenever possible, to participate in contests relative to their demonstrated abilities as judged by the coaching staff.
