The EDE team members gave regular courses and supervised theses at the bachelor, master, and doctoral level at the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics (further abbreviated as MFF UK, Faculty of Natural Sciences (PřF UK), Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FSi ČVUT), Faculty of Nuclear Engineering (FJFI ČVUT), and University of West Bohemia, Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAV ZČU). Furthermore, particular courses and series of lectures were given at foreign universities.

Team members were involved in the International PhD Project Programme (MPD) supported by the Polish Science Foundation. Within this programme A. Wroblevska from Warsaw received a one-year fellowship in the Institute of Mathematics in Prague.

A common workplace called the Nečas Center for Mathematical Modeling – NCMM between the Institute of Mathematics, MFF UK and FJFI ČVUT existed till 2011. EDE team members E. Feireisl, J. Neustupa, J. Stebel, O. Kreml, H. Petzeltová, I. Straškraba, M. Krbec, and Š. Nečasová were involved in its activities.
