LCN01 - PANORAMIC TOUR OF SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
Duration: approx. 4.5 hours
A pleasant 1.5-hour coach ride will take you to the historical city of Santiago de Compostela, one of Spain’s most important religious centres. The city’s splendid cathedral and old quarter are both listed as UNESCO world heritage sites. You will have an opportunity to amble through the streets, narrow alleys and tiny squares before continuing on foot to the Plaza do Obradoiro, which is situated at the heart of the city and was named after the stonemason’s workshop that was established there while the cathedral was being built. An external viewing of the cathedral, an eclectic blend of various architectural styles including Baroque, gives you an opportunity to take some photos before proceeding with an inside visit of the site. Return to the port.

LCN02 - LA CORUÑA & BETANZOS
Duration: approx. 4 hours
On leaving the port, an enjoyable 45-minute drive first takes you to the town of Betanzos for a walking tour through the meticulously preserved medieval town centre. The old district’s lovely fountains, splendid palaces and magnificent churches, such as the 14th-century Igrexa de San Francisco and the 16th-century Igrexa de Santiago, are sights for which you may want to bring a camera. After some free time to explore on your own, you will return to La Coruña for a panoramic city tour of the city’s many wonderful attractions. A short photo stop will also be made at Hercules Tower, a famous Roman lighthouse that is said to be the oldest of its kind in the world that is still in operation. Your tour is brought to a close with your return to the port and your ship.
LCN03 - LA CORUÑA HIGHLIGHTS
Duration: approx. 4 hours
The busy Galician port and city of La Coruña is situated on a promontory at the entrance of an estuary on the Atlantic Ocean, affording the visitor gorgeous views of the bay and the ocean. This tour gives you a chance to explore this lovely Spanish town and take in its main sights of historical interest, such as the typical 18th-century buildings with glazed window balconies that were designed as a solution to the weather. After passing Mendez Nuñoz Gardens, a photo stop will be made at Hercules Tower, an old lighthouse that has been in continuous operation since Roman times, before reaching the centre of the town for a walking tour. You will have some free time to see the sights on your own, some of which could include the city’s gorgeously preserved historical quarter, before returning to your ship.
LA SPEZIA (Italy)
SPE01 – THE NATIONAL PARK OF “CINQUE TERRE”

Leave the vessel and spend a day out with us to one of Liguria’s natural paradises, the renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site of the “Cinque Terre”, characterized by small villages and a harsh and wild coastline. On this enjoyable itinerary you will have the opportunity to visit some of the five villages – anciently called “terre” – set like jewels on a coastline rich in terraces and vineyards. A coach ride will take you to Manarola, located on a promontory; the village may be the oldest of the “Cinque terre” and is located in a gorge on the sea. Manarola will be the starting point of an itinerary that will immerse you into the nature and the beauty of a territory whose inhabitants are strictly jealous of their ancient traditions. Board a local boat and sail to Vernazza; keep your camera ready to catch snapshots of one of Italy’s most beautiful villages as you approach the small harbour; the boat sailing will also afford you to admire the coastline with its luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation. Enjoy a little free time in Vernazza before continuing to your next destination: Monterosso, the biggest village of the territory. You will have time to explore the historical centre with the many churches, included the Church of San Giovanni Battista, dating to 1307, or to look for a nice restaurant to have lunch. Your return to La Spezia may be by train or by bus.

SPE02 – THE VILLAGES OF PORTOVENERE & LERICI
Duration: approx. 4.5 hours
Leave the ship, board a local boat and sail across the “Poets’ Bay” to reach one of the most fascinating villages of Liguria: Portovenere. Take your camera ready as the boat sail will afford you to catch snapshots of the lovely scenery and the contasts of the harsh coastline and the green hills beyond. As you approach the village from the sea you will be seduced by the beauty of Portovenere located on the southern tip of a peninsula. Your guide will take you on an itinerary along a panoramic path leading to the promontory tip and the Church of San Pietro, with its typical architecture of black and white stripes. Enjoy some free time to explore the village on your own and discover the many shops before continuing to Lerici, one of Italy’s loveliest villages. Lerici is dominated by the imposing castle located on the promontory; your guided walk will allow to see the nicest corners of the village and look for the perfect souvenir to take home. At the end of the tour, a boat awaits you for a boat ride to La Spezia.

SPE03 – DISCOVER FLORENCE AT YOUR PACE

This tour for the independent traveller begins with a 2.5 hours coach drive to Florence, the cradle of Italian language; the scenic drive will give you plenty of time to set your own itinerary for exploring this fascinating city at your own pace. Magnificent architecture, ancient, noble palaces, museums and churches of great artistic value, Ponte Vecchio and the Arno river await you, only to mention some of the main key attractions. But as this tour is all about what you want to see in the romantic Florence, the choice of what to see is yours alone to make. Just be sure to be at the meeting point in good time to board your return coach to La Spezia and your cruise ship.
SPE04 – BEST OF TWO CITIES: FLORENCE & PISA

Make the most of your time off the ship with this special excursion that combines the best of two famous Tuscan towns: Florence and Pisa. An approx. 2.5-hour coach transfer first takes you inland to Florence where you will meet your guide. Next follows a fascinating walk through art and history including some of Florence’s key attractions; keep your camera ready to catch external snapshots of the beautiful Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery and the Duomo Bell Tower. You will continue to “Piazza della Signoria”, dominated by “Palazzo Vecchio”, another symbol of Florence, before reaching Ponte Vecchio and its jewellery shops. Enjoy some time for free exploration or to have lunch before continuing on to Pisa, home to the famous Leaning Tower and also the birthplace of the scientist Galileo Galilei, whose research revolutionised the way we see our solar system in the 17th century. You will visit Piazza dei Miracoli, the best place to take snapshots of the Cathedral, the marble baptistery and the iconic Leaning Tower. Enjoy some free time before returning to La Spezia.
SPE05 – PISA: THE TOWN OF THE LEANING TOWER

A coach trip begins this tour to Pisa, where you will then meet your guide. Apart from taking you to visit the Piazza dei Miracoli where the Leaning Tower stands, the place from where Galileo Galilei conducted his famous acceleration experiments, the Pisa itinerary also includes an inside viewing of the 13th-century cathedral and a look around the marble baptistery, a large round Romanesque dome with gorgeous views of the city from the top. Pisa’s conveniently small city centre is full of attractive squares, buildings, stores and restaurants, which you will have time to explore on your own or do some shopping. Your tour comes to a close with your return to the port of La Spezia and your ship
SPE06 – PORTOFINO: THE JEWEL OF ITALIAN RIVIERA

Spend a day away from the ship and join us on an exclusive tour to Portofino. Board a coach and enjoy the ride to Santa Margherita Ligure where you will board a boat to reach your destination. The boat ride will afford you to admire the lovely scenery, a chance to enjoy this lush section of the Italian Riviera. Once in Portofino, your guide will take you on an itinerary that will unveil the beauties of this renowned seaside town: you will reach the Church of San Giorgio, dating to 1154, and the lighthouse. Next you will have plenty of leisure time to explore Portofino at your pace, to take pictures or relax in the chic cafés and restaurants. We will continue by boat to Santa Margherita, where you will board a coach for your return to La Spezi.

SPE08 – CULTURE, ART & HISTORY: DISCOVER FLORENCE

A 2.5-hour coach ride from La Spezia will first give you a chance to enjoy the countryside before you arrive in Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and one of Tuscany’s loveliest cities. An informative guide will meet you to take you around the city, which is not just an artistic, cultural and architectural jewel, but also the home base of several top fashion designers. The views at Michelangelo Square of the town and the surrounding Tuscan hills are incredible and well worth a photo, as is the city centre and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. A chance to stretch your legs is next with a walk to Santa Croce Square, known for the eponymous basilica. You will also have time to explore the city at your leisure, go shopping or look for a nice restaurant to have lunch.
LAS PALMAS (Canary Islands, Spain)
Known for its fabulous and seemingly endless Las Canteras beach, dominated by the Cathedral of Santa Ana – views of which can be seen from almost any part of the city centre – and blessed by a subtropical climate with mild to warm temperatures throughout the year, the vibrant seaside resort of Las Palmas is one of Gran Canaria’s most popular holiday destinations.
LPM01 – GARDEN TOUR
Duration: 4 hours
Nearly 43% of the territory of Gran Canaria is protected and the flora of the Canary Islands is unique in the world; this excursion will give us the possibility to become acquainted with the flora of the island. We will leave the port and will reach Doramas Park, lovely urban park located near to the port. We will then proceed to Tafira to visit the “Jardín Viera and Clavijo”, the largest botanical garden in Spain. The botanical garden has about 2.000 plant species in the archipelago and the garden has a program whose aim is to educate the population on the preservation and protection of our natural resources. Our excursion will continue to Arucas and then to the “Jardín de la Marquesa” to admire its extensive collection of Canarian and tropical plants and banana groves. Return to the ship.

LPM02 – LAS PALMAS & BANDAMA
Duration: 4 hours
Leave the vessel and reach “Pueblo Canario”, a complex made of a collection of houses inspired by the Canary traditional architecture. The centre of the complex is a square surrounded by shops of local crafts. We will then continue to the oldest quarter of Las Palmas, called “Vegueta”, a maze of narrow, cobblestones streets, passing by “Plaza Santa Ana” with its bronze statues in honour of the dogs which gave the Canary Islands their name. We will also admire the Cathedral from outside before proceeding with the second leg of the excursion that will take us to the residential area of “Tafira” to reach the vast volcanic crater of “Bandama”, an extinct volcano rising nearly 580 metres above sea level. Enjoy panoramic views before making a photo stop at “Altavista” with its magnificent panorama over Las Palmas, Las Canteras Beach and the port. Return to the port.

LPM05 – PANORAMIC TOUR OF GRAN CANARIA
Duration: 4.5 hours
This excursion will begin with a transfer to the “Crater de Bandama” an extinct volcano rising nearly 580 metres above sea level to enjoy panoramic views. Next stop will be a transfer to “Teror” located in the mid-mountain range of the north of Gran Canaria. Here we will learn about the history of the town and admire some of the many important monuments. The town is a traditional Canarian village of white houses and wooden balconies. Admire the Basilica of the “Virgen del Pino”, the island’s patron saint. Proceed to Arucas, an agricultural centre, and then to Altavista. Return to the port.

LPM07 – LAS PALMAS CITY TOUR
Duration: 4 hours
Leave the port and reach to the oldest quarter of Las Palmas, called Vegueta, the starting point of your guided cultural city tour discovering a maze of narrow, cobblestone streets. On the way you will admire the market, Perez Galdos’ Theatre, and pass by Santa Ana square with it´s bronze statues in honour of the dogs, which grave the Canary Islands their name. Enjoy free time at Vegueta for a coffee (not included). The second leg of the tour will include a visit to the park of Doramas and to “Pueblo Canario” a model of a traditional Canarian village, designed by the famous artist Nestor de la Torre. Your sightseeing tour of Las Palmas will include Alfredo Kraus’ Auditorium, a vantage point for a spectacular view of Canteras Beach. Return to the pier.

LPM08 – PRE-HISPANIC GRAN CANARIA
Duration: 4 hours
For a fascinating glimpse of history, join this tour on a modern coach for a scenic trip to the south-east area for Gran Canaria and offering panoramic views of the natural caves. Arriving in Guayadeque, you will explore the city on an enjoyable sightseeing tour to discover the pre-Hispanic architectural style of the main building and of the Church. The second leg of the excursion includes a visit to the historic quarter of Agüimes, founded on 1486, after the Conquest, and one of the most important of the Island, conserving the traditional pre-Hispanic style. Free time before reaching Agüimes Viewpoint affording lovely views of Gran Canaria east coast. Return to the pier.

LE HAVRE (France)
Situated on the right bank of the mouth of the River Seine in the Upper Normandy district of north-western France, Le Havre is the most densely populated community within the region. The city was founded in 1517 and was originally named Franciscopolic after Francis I of France. It was later renamed “Le Havre-de-Grâce” in honour of the town’s Chapel of “Notre-Dame-de- Grâce”.
HAV01 ― ÉTRETAT ON YOUR OWN
Duration: approx. 4 hours
On leaving the port, part one of your excursion will take you on a panoramic tour of Le Havre, which was rebuilt in classic style with large avenues and open spaces to offset the sea front. The second part of your tour will then see you visit the town of Étretat, which is considered to be a major French national site. Whatever the season, the grandeur of the high cliffs and crashing waves is certainly unforgettable. Look forward to viewing the three natural arches and the formation known as “The Needle”. Furthermore, Étretat has inspired writers and artists alike, with the painters Monet and Courbet being just two examples. You will have time to explore this natural beauty spot on your own. The tour will also take you past timber-framed houses, the town’s medieval church and the covered marketplace. You will have enough time to discover the town at your own pace before returning to Le Havre and your ship.
HAV02 ― HONFLEUR ON YOUR OWN
Duration: approx. 4 hours
On leaving the port you will reach Honfleur, a tiny town known for its picturesque harbour and beautifully preserved old buildings with slate-covered frontages. A favourite motif of many a painter, Honfleur is known to have particularly inspired Gustave Courbet, Claude Monet, Eugène Boudin and Johan Jongkind, collectively referred to as the Honfleur school. You will have enough time to spend in this delightful village on your own. Enjoy the olde-worlde feel of the narrow streets lined with timber-framed houses and be sure to visit Sainte-Catherine Church, France’s largest church made entirely of wood. The church also features bell tower that is separate from the main building. The tour concludes with your return to the ship.
HAV03 ― SEE THE SIGHTS OF ROUEN
Duration: approx. 4.5 hours
Considered to be the historical capital of Normandy, Rouen is located on the north bank of the river Seine, some 1.5 hours from the sea port of Le Havre. Your guide will introduce you to the old part of the town and take you on a walk down the city’s narrow streets, which are lined with more than 700 timber-framed houses. Enjoy the special atmosphere of Rue St. Romain and then reach the so-called Gros Horloge – an astronomical clock from the 16th century – located in the aptly named Rue du Gros Horloge. The tour then continues on to the Roman Catholic Rouen Cathedral with its Gothic architecture and its so-called “Butter Tower”, which was built in the early 16th century with money appropriated from the local population for the indulgence of eating butter. It has also featured as the famous subject of a series of paintings by Claude Monet. Before returning you to the ship, the last stop on the tour is the “Place du Vieux Marché”, the site where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake, at the centre of which stands the modern Church of Saint Joan of Arc.
