IRK06 – THE MINOAN PALACE OF PHAESTOS
Duration: approx. 4.5 hours
This tour will take you through some of the most beautiful areas of Crete which are characterized by lush vineyards and ancient olive trees. We will drive across the Aghia Varvara Pass to the southern part of Crete to reach the traditional village of Aghia Varvara where we will stop for a short visit. Our next destination will be the Messara Plain where we will explore the Minoan Palace of Phaestos. The Palace, situated in a magnificent location overlooking the Messara Plain and Ida Mountains, is second in importance and size to the palace of Knossos. The Palace was excavated by the Italian archaeologist Frederico Halbherr at the beginning of the XX century. The earliest settlements on the site date from the Neolithic Period and small settlements from the early Minoan period were scattered over the hill where the Palace stood. Phaestos was the centre of southern Crete, with two harbours, Matala and Kommos.

IRK07 – THE VILLAGES OF CRETE
Duration: 5 hours
Drive along the coastal road and through the spectacular ravine of Saint George to Kritsa. The whitewashed mountain village with its blue and green doors and shutters is famous for woven handicrafts and the Byzantine church of Panagia Kera which boasts 700-year old frescoes depicting Biblical stories. Continue along the northern coastal road to reach the typical Cretan coastal town of Aghios Nikolaos which has a small lagoon – Lake Voulismeni – in the centre of the town which, according to local legends, is bottomless. Walk along the lakeshore or explore the pretty streets and browse the shops selling typical souvenirs. Enjoy free time before returning to the port.

HONNIGSVAG (Norway)
The village of Honningsvaag in Norway is located just 1,200 miles from the North Pole. Visitors can stand on the 1,000 foot-high cliffs at Europe’s northernmost point, the Northern Cape, and witness the incredible natural phenomenon known as the Midnight Sun, where the sun hangs low above the Arctic Ocean and shines all night. Join an excursion here and say you have ‘journeyed to the very end of Europe’.
HON01 - TRANSFER TO CAPE NORTH
Approximately 3 hours
Located on Magerøya Island and approximately 1 hour by coach from Honningsvåg lies the North Cape, the northernmost part of North Europe with its spectacular vista of barren tundra with a few mountain birch trees, mountains rising all around and dramatic cliffs with sheer drops to the sea below. Do bring your camera – the landscape here is so incredible, a photo to prove you have been will certainly be the order of the day. You will have a chance to look around the North Cape Pavilion, a facility dedicated to describing the history of the region. Spend time at your leisure taking in the fabulous landscape and finding out about the region before heading back to the coach for your return journey to the port and your ship.

HON03 – KING CRAB EXPERIENCE BY RIB BOAT
Duration: 3 hours
Lovers of fine food will not want to miss this special opportunity to discover the King Crab, a giant crab that lives in the depths of the cold Arctic sea around Russia and Norway. Considered a delicacy, some king crabs can measure up to 2 metres and weighs as much as 10 kilos. After a short walk from the pier we will reach the North Cape Adventure Centre for a safety briefing and our floatation suits. We will board a special RIB-boat for approx. 1 hour sailing trip to Sarnesfjord. Here we will see the traps taken out of the water before continuing to the tent camp where our catch will be prepared and served.
Please note: the boat crew will act as guides – English spoken; this tour is feasible for children aged 4 years on. In case of rough sea and for safety reasons, the duration of the sailing may be reduced. This tour is not recommended for guests suffering from heart problems or having walking difficulties.
HON04 – KING CRAB SAFARI BY BUS
Duration: 3 hours
Lovers of fine food will know what a delicacy king crab is – and those as yet unfamiliar with this tasty treat can now find out. The giant crab, which can measure up to 2 m in length and weigh up to 10 kg each, is found in the depths of the cold Arctic waters around Russia and Norway. After a short walk from the pier to the coach, a 15-minute drive will take you to the beach and the Sarnes Lavvo Camp. You will then be able to watch the traps being taken out of the water and the exciting moment when the catch is revealed – and removed. Finally, the delicious crabs will be prepared and served directly in the camp tent. Your “royal” culinary treat comes to a close with your return to the port and your ship.

HON05 – ATV RIDE
Duration: 2.5 hours
Leave the vessel and take in a funny way to explore Honnisgvag and its nature in an adventurous ATV. After a 5-minute walk, you will reach the ATV station where you will be handing your equipment and where you will receive a short briefing. Then you will begin your adventure by driving through the town of Honningsvåg before taking off from the main road and onto a gravel road. This road takes you up to Nato Mountain. During the tour you will learn about the Magerøya Island’s unique nature and several stops are made en route. You will drive to Sarnes where a well earned coffee break in the Lavvo (Sami Tent) will be served; the coffee is made over open fire and you will sit on the ground on reindeer skins like the locals do. After this break you drive back to Honningsvåg.
Please note: as drivers are not included in the tour, guests will be expected to drive the ATV themselves. An international driver’s license is compulsory. Each ATV can accommodate a maximum of 2 guests, incl. the driver. This tour includes driving via a 4 km long tunnel and is unsuitable for guests with heart problems or limited physical abilities. HON06 – PHOTO SAFARI ON MAGERØY ISLAND
Duration: 3 hours
Magerøy, the word deriving from the Sami word Makkaravjo, means steep, barren coast. On the island there are several small fishing villages spread around in addition to the "capital" Honningsvåg with fishing and fish industry as the dominant source of income. Your guide – that has a keen interest in photography - will point out suitable photo opportunities en route. Starting off by bus you will visit a fishing village and also be able to photograph the North Cape Plateau and the protruding horn from a distance. The exact route to be followed will vary and places to be visited are dependent on the weather. There are possibilities to photograph reindeer, eagles and the midnight sun however sightings cannot be guaranteed.

IBIZA (Spain)
The Spanish island of Ibiza, one of the Balearic Islands, has earned a reputation for being a Mecca for partygoers and young holiday makers. But this historic island has another, more cultural side: in addition to the party crowd, Ibiza has long been a chic retreat for worldly and artistic travelers. Let us introduce you to the lesser-known sights of this gorgeous island.
IBI01 – ISLAND TOUR
Duration: approx. 3 hours
Leave the port for a bus transfer to “Las Salinas” (salt flats), originally a wide lake and today a series of small lagoons and pools. This spot was of great historic importance for the Romans who understood the importance of salt as a trade commodity. We will continue to the mountain village of San José to admire its fine 18th century church (external visit only) before stopping at San Antonio, an old fishing village and popular tourist destination. We will enjoy a scenic tour of the village, taking in the pretty waterfront before returning to Ibiza. Here we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ibiza old town, “D’Alt Vila”, discovering its narrow streets and white-washed houses. Return to the port.
IBI03 – UNKNOWN IBIZA
Duration: approx. 3 hours
Budding painters can gain inspiration and photographers can snap until their heart’s content with this tour of Ibiza’s most scenic spots. Our tour will begin with a bus transfer to “Es Cubells”, a lovely, quiet bay in the southern part of the island and from where we can admire the beautiful view and glimpse the distant island of Formentera. Next stop will be with a delightful panorama over the islet of “Es Vedrá” before moving on to “Cala Conta”, a picturesque bay set on dappled blue waters. Return to Ibiza to embark.
IBI04 – SOUTHERN ISLAND TOUR AND BREAKFAST AHORE

The salt flats, “Las Salinas” of Ibiza originally formed a wide lake and today are a series of small lagoons and pools. This spot was of great historic importance for the Romans who understood the importance of salt as a trade commodity. This area also boasts a lovely natural beach landscape flanked by a pine forest. We will continue to the mountain village of San José to admire its fine XVIII century church before stopping at San Antonio, an old fishing village and a popular tourist destination. Our excursion also includes a restaurant breakfast before we return to the port.
IBI05 – PLAYA D’EN BOSSA BY NIGHT
Duration: approx. 4 hours
Situated on the southern coastline of the island near the airport and Ibiza Town, the busy resort of Playa d’en Bossa is a highly popular tourist destination by day due to its famously long beach and family-friendly atmosphere. But the town is equally well-known for its abundant nightlife offers and this tour gives you an opportunity to experience all the fun of a great night out. A short coach trip will transfer you from the port, after which you will have about three hours to explore Playa d’en Bossa and its many bars, cafés, pubs and shops on your own. Join the international party crowd, dance to the unmistakeable Ibiza beat and discover for yourself what makes the Space, Ushuaia and Bora Bora nightclubs so special.

IBI06 – IBIZA SUNSET

There is nowhere better to bask in the beautiful golden rays of an Ibizan sunset than in the coastal town of San Antoni, known for its long, sandy beach and a whole host of other attractions. A 30-min drive will take you across the island to this key tourist centre for time to spend at your leisure doing whatever you wish. Lined with cafés and bars, including the world-famous Café del Mar with its characteristic beachfront location and ambient-music vibe, the town’s famous “Sunset Strip” is well worth a visit. Choose your favourite spot, order tapas and drinks, and then glory in the spectacle of an unforgettable sundown – with your camera at the ready to capture stunning photos for your album at home.

IBI11 – A TRIP TO FORMENTERA
Duration: approx. 8 hours, lunch not included
The island of Formentera is only a 30-minute ferry ride from Ibiza, so why not join this excursion and explore with us this tourist destination renowned for its lovely, white beaches. A short coach drive will take you from the port to the pier where a public ferry awaits you. The ferry ride is already an experience itself affording beautiful views of the Balearic Islands. Arrived at Formentera you will board a touristic bus to start your exploration of the island with a first stop at Es Pujols, a lovely town where you will have free time to stroll around, to have lunch in one of the many bars and restaurants or to stay on the beach. Next destination will be Mitjorn Beach that you will reach after an approx. 30 minutes coach drive. Enjoy some 2 hours of free time to swim in the crystal waters or simply relax on the beach. At the fixed time you will board your touristic bus to reach “Puerto la Sabina” from where a ferry will take you back to Ibiza and to your cruise ship.

IBI15 – CATAMARAN TOUR
Duration: approx. 6 hours, BBQ lunch included
This tour gives you an opportunity to get a closer look at the coastline of two of the most beautiful islands of the Balearic. After a short coach drive, you will board a modern catamaran, for a relaxing sailing off Playa d’en Bossa beach on your way to the beautiful island of Formentera. During your 1.5-hour sailing, the captain will be keen to give you some information on what you are going to see and do. As he drops the anchor near to the beach of Illetas, you will have plenty of time to relax in the sun or to swim in the crystal water; you can even reach the beach boarding one of the catamaran inflated boat. Onboard the catamaran you will be served a delicious barbecue lunch; do not miss to taste the famous sangria as your relax in the sun. Your return to Ibiza will enable you to enjoy great views of the Balearic islands.

IBI16 – THE CAVES OF CAN MARÇA
Duration: approx. 4 hours
All those with a keen interest in geology and natural phenomena will be delighted in discovering the famous Can Marça Caves located in the lovely setting of San Miguel village. A 45-minute coach drive will take you to the cave where your adventure to the underworld begins; the cave is more than 100.000 years old. Meet your guide and go down approx. 300 steps cut out of the rock to the caves entrance and to an underground itinerary revealing stalagmites and stalactites. You will be delighted by a background music as you reach a multi-coloured waterfall, a bar and a little souvenir ship. Your return up to the ground and to the port will mark the end of your underground excursion.

IJMUIDEN (The Netherlands)
The port of IJmuiden is part of the Velsen municipality in the North Holland province at the mouth of the North Sea Canal, which provides a direct link to Amsterdam. Apart from its importance as a key transhipment port, IJmuiden has retained its fishing industry and acts as a supply port for the Dutch oil rigs. The harbour’s 35 m lighthouse is the town’s main landmark.
IJM01T or IJM01D - WINDMILLS & THE DUTCH COUNTRYSIDE
Duration: approx. 5 hours
Dutch traditions are the theme of this excursion which takes you from the port by coach for a guided tour of the windmill village of Zaanse Schans. The name derives from the defending wall “Schans”, which was erected at the end of XVI century for the war against the Spanish. Although the wall has since disappeared, the name was revived in 1950 when houses and small businesses from several neighbouring villages from the XVII and XVIII centuries were relocated here. Most of the houses are made of wood and sport the pretty green painted façades typical of the Zaan area. The village is home to traditional Dutch craft production, including a wooden shoe factory where you can see how the Dutch clogs are made. From Zaanse Schans we will continue through the countryside to a local cheese farm. Learn about the age-old process of cheese making.

Combining two of the things for which Amsterdam is best known – the Van Gogh Museum and diamonds – this enjoyable tour begins with am 1-hour coach drive to Amsterdam and with a sightseeing leg through the city’s historical centre. The route will first take you past Dam Square and the Mint Tower before dropping you at Museum Square and the Van Gogh Museum, which is home to the largest collection of works by the renowned Dutch post-Impressionist master, who only lived to the age of 37. Largely unknown and unappreciated his short lifetime, the artist seemed always on the move from one place to next, during which time he produced an abundance of groundbreaking art. Following your museum visit, the tour slowly draws to a close with a visit to a store selling one of nature’s most beautiful masterpieces: diamonds.
