Duties




The IT Support Analyst is a member of the IT Service Desk Team. The IT Service Desk team supports all staff in the operation of technologies in use by AUSTRAC. The IT Support Analyst is responsible for general IT service management activities including incident management and request fulfilment. The analyst also provides technical knowledge and advice in support of existing client requirements and the delivery of new services.

Working under limited direction, the IT Support Analyst has the following principal accountabilities, responsibilities and qualities:


  • Responsible for 1st and 2nd level support of IT technologies in use at AUSTRAC

  • Incident management. Liaising with internal and external 3rd parties for support on incidents and ensure that incidents are actioned in a timely manner, clients remain updated and progress is tracked; escalating incidents as required.

  • Request fulfilment. Ensure service requests are actioned in a timely manner providing excellent customer service in the delivery of IT services.

  • May be required to participate in project work as new services are developed and implemented.

  • Have demonstrable experience working with teams of technical staff responsible for the support and maintenance of complex network and system environments.

  • Exhibit highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with end users, key stakeholders and diverse technical / business teams

  • Have the ability to approach technical issues and problems in an analytical and methodical manner.

  • Display excellent communication skills both written and verbal with experience in the following: o Preparation of user or technical documentation

  • Ability to convey technical concepts and principles to a non-technical audience

  • Working in a Windows 7, Microsoft Office, Windows Server and Microsoft Exchange environment, the role is responsible for: o Resolving desktop, LAN, and video conferencing problems and assisting in resolution of service, networking, & UNIX issues. o Effective implementation of corporate security policies, and management and maintenance procedures related to the PC/LAN environment.

  • Administration of Active Directory Windows server environment, including the management of domain, email accounts, files share permission, and printer and peripheral maintenance.

  • Working closely with UNIX, Networks and Windows Systems teams.



Eligibility


The successful applicant will be required to undergo a security assessment, maintain an ongoing security clearance and satisfy AUSTRAC’s pre-engagement checks.
To be eligible for assessment, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
