Duties


The IT Security Advisor will:


  • Through detailed threat analysis and security profiling, take a leading role in the identification and implementation of appropriate technical security controls.




  • Assist the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Agency Security Advisor (ASA) in performing risk management based technical security assessments against the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and ICT Security Manual (ISM).




  • Perform technical security compliance audits and support the system certification and accreditation processes.




  • Perform user and system security vulnerability auditing in order to identify gaps in the layered approach to security covered through patching and antivirus processes.







  • Coordinate and manage system security auditing and monitoring processes.




  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to ensuring strong protective security




  • Conduct security awareness training

Duties


As a member of DHA’s Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) team within the Business Enablement Division, you will primarily be responsible for assisting in the successful implementation of specific SHEQ functions and projects, including those pertinent to the success of the SHEQ program.
You will play an important role in the continuous improvement of DHA’s SHEQ management system and assist in compliance with the WHS and worker’s compensation legislation. You will also be required to provide advice and direction to all DHA staff on SHEQ matters as required.
There will be an opportunity to further your personal development and SHEQ career through on-the-job learning of the application of the International and Australian standards for WHS, quality and environment and the opportunity to seek more formal qualifications in WHS for those with the motivation and personal drive to do so.
The role will also be expected to work closely and co-operatively with other business areas within DHA to deliver on SHEQ services in a timely manner and represent the SHEQ team when required at various forums.

Eligibility


The remuneration package is negotiable and includes a base salary, potential performance bonus and Commonwealth funded superannuation. Employment with DHA is conditional on successful applicants demonstrating that they are an Australian citizen, meeting the required medical standards, achieving a satisfactory character clearance and obtaining and maintaining a security clearance at the required level.
