Duties


Base Support in the South East Zone is a key element within the Service Delivery Division organisational structure. Base Support at each Defence Base brings together essential, on-the-ground services and support to Defence’s living, working and training environments in the Riverina area, Metropolitan & Regional Victoria and Tasmania.
Base Support focuses on two key activities:

As a Base Support Officer you will support the Base Support Managers (BSMs) in:



  • understanding the scope of products and services being delivered, relevant roles and responsibilities and the associated service delivery issues;

  • supporting performance and compliance assurance when required;

  • being subject matter aware in relation to services and providing the first point of coordination for emergencies;

  • escalating non-standard service requests received locally not able to be resolved by contractors or locally;

  • identifying initial stages of contractor underperformance or non-conformance and escalating as appropriate;

  • ensuring compliance with appropriate levels of escorting and base induction support for contractors and other users of the base;

  • planning and coordinating whole of base activities/functions/systems, in particular base safety, emergency response and security;

  • supporting community and other engagement as required; and

  • providing input on service delivery planning, utilising Defence base accountabilities e.g. forecasting of base activities or exercises.



Eligibility

Duties


The Defence Intelligence Organisation's Weapons and Technical Intelligence Branch is seeking motivated and technically capable individuals to lead experienced analysts and engineers responsible for assessing the capabilities of some of the most advanced weapons and military capabilities in the world. These teams of analysts and engineers provide technical intelligence assessments to Defence senior leadership, the Australian Defence Force and capability development areas to support planning and decision making processes.
As a technical intelligence assessment manager, you will manage and lead a team conducting very complex research and engineering analysis relating to weapon systems, sensors and military technologies to support the requirements of Defence. As a manager of a technical intelligence team, you will utilise a variety of intelligence sources and employ various tools and techniques to prepare technical assessments in support of customers. Drawing on your technical acumen, strong analytical skills, and management experience you will be performing stimulating, challenging and rewarding work alongside some of Australia’s brightest and most innovative analysts and engineers.

Eligibility


Prior to commencement successful applicants will be required to undergo a psychological assessment and an extensive security clearance process. As a Positive Vetting clearance is required, applicants must be Australian Citizens; be able to account for their personal background for their whole life; and be able to demonstrate suitability to work in a high security intelligence environment.
