Team overview
The Design and Web Services team is part of the Communication Branch and is made up of four core communication functions

  • graphic design, web content, intranet management and web development. These teams work closely to create websites and communication products for the Department of Employment in line with the strategic direction of the agency.

Eligibility


Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
This is a designated security assessed position. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security assessment at the Baseline level.

Duties


The Network Team is responsible for the operation and management of the Department of Employment (Employment) Enterprise network, encompassing Datacentre, LAN, WAN and Wireless Networks.

In addition to operations, the Employment network team are responsible for all aspects of the enterprise network including project work, business as usual operational work, third level technical support, maintenance and asset replacement and overall management of the entire network infrastructure.




  • Serving as Network Site Support Administrator for the Employment Infrastructure Services Branch Network Team.




  • Reviewing and Generating network schematics, diagrams, and other program documentation to assist with development and improvement of the Employment corporate Cisco network




  • Generating network (LAN/WAN and Datacentre) system documentation including: Diagrams, Rack Elevations, Plate/Panel Details, Electrical load and cooling specification for racked hardware installations.




  • Work with Employment customers and internal ICT personnel to manage related IT projects and provide customer service and technical support




  • Coordinate with Employment ICT areas on functions for all Employment locations to include technician training, customer training programs, inventory and administrative information tracking, maintenance tracking, and vendor management
