Duties
The National Capital Authority (NCA) is seeking an experienced and motivated person to join the NCA’s Development Approvals and Heritage section in the National Capital Plan Branch.
Under limited direction the successful applicant will:
-
Assess works approvals under the National Capital Plan, including the preparation of reports, briefings and Ministerial responses.

Provide high level planning policy, strategic and general planning advice to the Branch.
-
Prepare reports on planning proposals and submissions to the NCA on works approvals and processes.

Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders (external and internal), to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation. Represent the NCA at relevant meetings as required.

Manage resources (including consultants and contracts) and other tasks related to the Branch in accordance with legislation and NCA policies and guidelines as required.

Assist the Director, Development and Approvals with heritage management, and reporting and administrative functions as required.

Participate as a constructive member of the National Capital Plan Branch and provide reasonable support with functions as required.
Tertiary qualifications in planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture or a related discipline. Experience in built heritage management desirable.
To be eligible to work with the NCA you must:
-
be an Australian citizen
-
be willing to undergo a medical examination if applicable
-
undertake a security assessment to the requisite standard
-
have completed the 'redundancy benefit period' if you received a redundancy benefit from an Australian Public Service (APS) agency or a non-APS Commonwealth employer.
