No. PS34 - 24 Aug 2017
The Opportunity
The Data and Digital Branch is responsible for providing strategic advice to the Prime Minister and the relevant Assistant Minister on data and digital policy matters. The Branch is responsible for delivering the Government’s data and digital agendas to enable forward-thinking economic, social and environmental outcomes, and continued innovation in the provision of government services. Critical to achieving these results, the Data and Digital Branch in PM&C is seeking applications for a Senior Adviser to manage and lead the Data Projects section of the branch.
The Branch is responsible for:

  • Leadership and oversight of the Data Integration Partnership for Australia (DIPA), which is a $131 million project to improve the Australian Public Service’s advice to Government on complex policy issues.

  • Development of a whole-of-government framework to build community trust in the public data agenda.

  • Provision of advice on whole-of-government service delivery and ICT policy, and the operation of the Digital Transformation Agency.

  • Coordination of Australia’s participation in international data groups and activities, as well as liaison with foreign counterparts on data-related issues.

If you are an innovative leader with a mind for dynamic policy and program management, and can skilfully liaise with stakeholders from the centre of government, this could be a perfect opportunity to further develop and demonstrate your abilities with PM&C.

Our Ideal Candidate
You show strong leadership and can capably manage a team to deliver results, think creatively, understand the broader strategic environment, build strong relationships, and write and communicate persuasively.
You will be able to strategically evaluate, analyse and provide robust policy advice to the Government and have experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
Our work is interesting and often fast paced. You will need to be highly organised, flexible, have good judgement and be able to manage priorities using your leadership, communication and strong interpersonal skills.
What We Offer

  • A flexible, diverse and inclusive workplace and attractive remuneration package including generous employer superannuation contributions.

  • Exciting and fulfilling work at the heart of government with career development and networking opportunities difficult to find elsewhere.

  • The opportunity to work with strong, smart, visionary and experienced leaders who encourage and support you to develop your interests and expertise and achieve your ambitions.

The occupant must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline level security clearance, or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.
