Duties
ASIS is Australia’s overseas secret intelligence collection agency. Its mission is to protect and promote Australia’s vital interests through the provision of intelligence services as directed by the Government. Its work can involve collecting intelligence relating to national security, international relations and economic issues. It also contributes to Australia’s coordinated national
efforts against terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and transnational issues such as people smuggling.
ASIS is seeking to engage a number of highly motivated, knowledgeable and capable individuals to fill vacancies across the Service.
As a Desk Officer and working as part
of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide advice and analytical skills to enhance the alignment and focus of ASIS operations for greater impact for government. You will provide the critical linkages for all elements of an operation, in particular ensuring the smooth communication and coordination between the different elements. You are expected to be the corporate knowledge and subject matter expert on the breadth and detail of operations and provide critical analysis to support the secure and relevant activities. This will require you to maintain a strong appreciation of the activities being carried out and the in- country context.
