The Treasury is looking for an experienced, highly competent, motivated and professional Senior Executive Assistant to directly support the Secretary in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The successful applicant will have:


  • Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills to undertake and lead a range of high level administrative tasks and logistics that support Treasury business, including telephone management, email management, scheduling tasks, travel, accommodation, records management, finance and budget management, procurement, meeting and event management.

  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport, maintain relationships, exercise discretion and liaise with staff, and other key stakeholders effectively at all levels.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with uncompromised attention to detail, including an ability to respond effectively to enquiries, provide advice as required, negotiate with a wide variety of stakeholders, and maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.

  • Intermediate to advanced level MS Word, Outlook and Sharepoint skills that will be used to develop complex written reports, correspondence and presentations.

  • Well-developed initiative, judgement and common sense that can be applied to all situations. The successful applicant will:

  • Be required to work with limited supervision, manage tight and often conflicting deadlines, anticipate the needs of the Secretary and provide a high level of secretarial support.

  • Develop and manage information resources such as procedures, processes and documents.

  • Provide guidance, leadership and mentoring to junior staff, including setting direction and clear expectations.

  • Participate in a roster system to ensure the Executive has support coverage from 8.30am – 6pm each working day.

  • Support decision making and planning within the work area, fostering and supporting Departmental goals and objectives.

  • Model and promote a healthy and safe working environment, promote ethical behaviours and practices consistent with the APS Code of Conduct.

  • Provide leadership to other Senior and Junior Executive Assistants within Treasury, recognising this is an Executive Level role.

Desirable Qualifications / Experience


Demonstrated significant experience in providing executive support to high level senior executives.

A professional qualification in a relevant field (for example, office administration or business management) is highly desirable. The ability to take dictation is also desirable.


Eligibility


Employees of the Treasury are required to be Australian citizens and are required to obtain a security clearance prior to commencement and maintain this clearance for the duration of their employment.

This recruitment process is being used to fill both ongoing and non-ongoing positions. Non-ongoing opportunities will be offered for a specified term for an initial period of up 12 to 18 months (determined by business requirements), with the possibility of extension up to three years.
