The Aerial Delivery Engineer (ADE) will work in a section with six other uniformed and APS ADEs, and also with AMTDU’s technical project officers (Loadmaster aircrew and Air Dispatch specialists). AMTDU’s ADEs perform design and certification for:

ADEs also provide advice to and influence Defence equipment acquisition projects.
Activities include analyses and in-hangar, on-aircraft, and in-flight live trial activities, managed and conducted in conjunction with technical project officers. Such activities are conducted at RAAF Richmond, and at times in other locations in Australia and overseas.
The ADE works within an Authorised Engineering Organisation framework, including an ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System and Defence Aviation Safety Authority approved Engineering Management System. The ADE is required to achieve and maintain a level of Engineering Authority, the scope of which is defined and issued by AMTDU’s Chief Engineer.
