Duties


The Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) was established by the Fair Work Act 2009. Our role is to promote harmonious, productive and cooperative workplace relations and ensure compliance with Australian workplace laws.
The Frontline Voice Team plays a critical role within the agency by resolving incoming enquiries from the general public regarding workplace issues. We provide personalised and accurate advice and information to both employers and employees. We empower our customers by:


  • Promoting and helping customers navigate our suite of online self-help resources.

  • Offering tailored assistance to those most in need of our services.

  • Providing honest and forthright guidance on the best way/s to resolve workplace issues.

As a Team Leader, you will lead a team of Advisers in providing exceptional customer service by putting the customer first, and empower your team to use their discretion on the best way to assist customers to take control of their workplace issues.


To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and attributes:


  • Leadership and people management skills, including experience in coaching, employee development, engagement and implementing change initiatives.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced and changing environment.

  • Confidence and timeliness in decision making, and able to consider risks when making decisions.

  • Able to use a diverse range of influencing and communication skills tailored to a situation, and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Applicants engaged through this process will be employed to work full-time or part-time, flexibly between the hours of 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
