The Committee feels that the Centre is now all set for making a quantum jump in frontier research areas.
All efforts should be made by the University to make space available to the Department for library and laboratory development.
The Committee formally approved of the proposal to utilize Rs. 1,05, 669/- : the interest amount accrued, for the contingency expenditure.
The Committee also expressed concern that the fund for 2009-10 is yet to be released by the UGC, though the Centre has submitted the UC in July 09 and a few reminders were sent. The Committee recommends that the total unspent balance of ~ Rs. 2.48 lakhs be utilized to meet the expenses under the approved budget head of the CAS, until grant from the UGC is received.
The Experts also recommend that a Monitoring Committee be formed for the UGC Networking Resource Centre including a few Experts from other Institutions in India.
