This extremely rare shade fully matches the “very dark chestnut” shade listed currently only under single-line perf (ACSC 122C), while it is a little bit lighter than the so called “black-brown” shade that is recorded only as perf OS (the vaguely worded footnote in ACSC refers to the existence of both perf OS, & unpunctured examples, meaning that ACSC is including this shade under the same grouping as the very few unpunctured examples are exactly the shade of these stamps).
