TD S2 160256 23.401 CR2930R4 (Rel 13, 'B'): Introduction of solution 18 – suspend and resume procedure. (Source: Ericsson, Alcatel-Lucent, Sony, Nokia Networks). (Revision of TD S2 154453).
Abstract: Summary of change: Procedures for suspend and resume connections are added. Added in conjunction with Service Request and S1 Release procedures. The CR introduces the functionality for all UEs, i.e. UEs supporting NBIOT and UEs supporting LTE.
The following changes were introduced compared to 4453:
- The procedures are renamed to from 'Suspend/Resume Connection' to 'Connection Suspend/Resume'.
- Given the decision to introduce this optimization for all UEs, the 'CIoT' reference is removed from the
new text.
- 4.6.3 is updated to reflect the changes on the connection management
- 4.x is updated clarifying that UE does not send Service Request when conditions are met, i.e. the details
of AS/NAS interactions are removed. SGSN Context Request is added to the conditions triggering the
MME to conduct S1 Release capturing the agreement that IRAT mobility shall be included.
- 5.3.4A updates to the figure. Clarifying in the procedure description the bearer handling.
