Discussion and conclusion:
ZTE asked whether this was for the RAT or the AN as the AN is not necessarily a radio network for 5G. Orange did not agree with bullet 2 as an assumption but may be discussed as part of the solutions. It was suggested to re-phrase the bullet to the intention to have the same core network for any evolution of LTE Advanced networks and the new 5G RAT. Intel suggested improving the wording for bullet 3 to clarify the meaning that further evolution of 5G RATs should be backwards compatible to the first Release of the 5G RAT. This was left for further off-line discussion and revised in TD S2 160710 which was reviewed. Vodafone commented that '5G UE' should be 'Rel-15 and onwards UE'. Bullet 1 should be 'AN' instead of 'RAN'. Further clarification of the terminology was needed. This was left for further off-line discussion and revised in TD S2 160817 (Source: Ericsson, Qualcomm Incorporated, AT&T, CMCC, NTT DoCoMo) which was reviewed. ZTE commented that <5G RATs> should be RAT Access. Ericsson suggested using <5G RAN> instead. Orange suggested removing the CN: line. This was left for a future meeting and was noted.
