Form of assessment of the study course: Assessment of independent papers with a grade, three tests and one examination.
The course is delivered in Latvian.

Description of the study course

Title of the study course: Methods of research work.


Title of the study program: Personnel management
Amount: 2 P, 3 ECTS

Aim of the course: To help the future personnel managers to acquire theoretical knowledge and the experience of practical work which is necessary in writing and defending research papers, as well as to encourage students to carry out purposeful research in their professional activity.


Expected result:

  • To acquire the basic principles of the structure of research work and writing a scientific paper.

  • To have knowledge of different research methods and be able to chose them for conducting the particular research.

  • To acquire the procedure of the defense of a research paper.

Aim of the course:

To provide knowledge and comprehension about the key issues of organizational and management psychology and develop students’ skills to apply the acquired knowledge to practical personnel management at an enterprise.


Expected result:

Students can reproduce the most significant conclusions of organizational and management psychology, distinguish and analyze psychological regularities in the organization , know how to link the acquired theoretical knowledge with practical cases, forecast psychological regularities in the organization and managerial processes, are knowledgeable about the world of the recent researches into the organization and trends of management psychology.
