A miniature camera is housed in Ray Flynn’s spectacles, records images of what is in front of him. The video data is sent to a small computer processor, which transforms the images into electrical impulses.
The impulses are then transferred wirelessly to a tiny antenna implanted on the side of the eyeball.
They are sent via a short cable to the electrodes on the surface of the retina.
