SCARPA

Safeguarding Children At Risk - Prevention & Action

SCARPA provides targeted youth support to young people who go missing or are at risk of sexual exploitation. The service is delivered from a base in Newcastle city centre.



Aims

SCARPA aims to help young people:




  • be ‘Safe from Harm’

  • stop going missing

  • reduce risky behaviours

  • exit situations of exploitation.



Making a Referral

SCARPA can work with young people who run away / go missing if:




  • they live in Newcastle

  • they are aged under 16

  • they have been involved in episodes of going missing.

If you are working with a young person who is aged 16 or 17 but feel they would benefit from a service please contact us to discuss this.


SCARPA can work with young people either experiencing or at risk from sexual exploitation if:

Again please ring if you are unsure about whether or not to make a referral.

We have posters and leaflets available for youth settings. Please contact us for copies.
