This course has two components. In the first part, the course aims to discuss the main interest area of art, its methods and basic perspective to art from a philosophical viewpoint, factual features of art from a philosophical perspective, changing status, position, meaning and role of art and artist, art qualification and aesthetic values in the process of social transition, the relationship with aesthetic values and other social institutions (economics, politics, religion etc.) within artistic qualification, the problem of the universality of art and main theories in this regard; In the second part, the course aims to discuss the theory of mimesis, theory of creation, game theory, main theoretical perspectives about the origin and functions of art, understanding of art qualification as something which exposes an open-ended paradoxical attitude, aesthetics and fundamental concepts of aesthetics.

SOS 418 SPACE AND SOCIETY (3-0 ) 3 4 AKTS

Spatial practices have relations with the social practices as it is the case with all other practices. Social identities and spatial experiences determine and shape each other. Within the context of this course, we will follow the traces of our experiences, belongings and exclusions ranging from micro spaces to macro spaces and we will try to analyse forms of relationships between society and space. A certain literatüre will be used for this aim but we will also refer to the testimonies of people by in-depth interviews about their spatial practices.

After the globalization, poverty studies have increased. Turkey is a key country in order to maintain reasons and solutions of poverty and underdevelopment. SOS 420 SOCIAL RESEARCHES ON ZONGULDAK (3-0 ) 3 4 AKTS

This course has three parts. In the first part, Zonguldak’s economic, political, social and cultural life will be presented in a historical narrative. In the second part, this historical narrative will be associated with migration, identity, social space, urban transformation, urban division, political tendencies, social policy, and urban identity of Zonguldak. For the third part of the course, students supposed to plan small research on Zonguldak and after that findings will be discussed.

This course is nature of grammar points (prepositions, pronouns, competence modes, present, present tense modes) and introduction of English. During the course students develop the necessary skills and strategies recognizing in of  terms correct  grammatical  and  linguistic  structures  to reinforce the grammatical information with various educational activities.The course includes that use a combination of significant parts of four skill that consisting of reading, writing, speaking and listening to reinforce the language.

As a continuation of the YDL1, During the course students develop the necessary skills and strategies recognizing in of  terms correct  grammatical  and  linguistic  structures  to reinforce the grammatical information with various educational activities, The course includes that use a combination of significant parts of four skill that consisting of reading, writing, speaking and listening to reinforce the language. The use of detailed reading and speed-reading strategies and development, the mobilization of mental abilities For the interpretation of texts, vocabulary learning, development strategies of memory retention and use when needed are acquired other issues during the course.
