The ultimate goal of any society is to meet the needs of its members. It should be noted that the
economy is a means of satisfying a vital need. The things that people need to live and mature as
human beings constitute their vital needs. We make extensive use of these economic categories in the
study of economic theory. Economic categories are interrelated and affect each other. Economic
categories are part of the methodology of scientific analysis and have their own essence.
Needs can be divided into the following groups:

material needs;

social needs;

labor needs.
Material needs are people's demand for goods and services, their usefulness and purchasing
power. Needs are expressed in primary and secondary forms. When primary needs are expressed in
consumer goods related to human survival. Secondary needs include people’s needs for their
activities (health, education, recreation, skills development) and other factors The service sector also
meets people’s needs. For example, hairdressing, car repair. The needs of people and the degree of
their satisfaction depend on the nature of the relations of production and the level of development of
the productive forces. It is needed only when society creates material goods. Therefore, production
relations are primary, and the satisfaction of human needs is secondary. The fact that needs are
manifested in this way implies that it is an economic law. But the increase in people’s needs is not a
passive state, it also affects production relations. For example, when people's purchasing power
decreases, production relations break down, overproduction leads to an economic crisis. Economic
theory studies economic consumption. Economic consumption provides the ability of members of
society to function. Economic consumption as an internal factor serves as a factor that accelerates the
activities of man and the subjects of production.
Depending on the level of satisfaction of needs, they are:

current needs;

real needs;

divided into absolute needs.
The needs of the present age correspond to the minimum needs. Real needs are those in which
people normally meet their own needs. Absolute needs are the desires of these people. With the
development of society, a transformation of needs takes place. Over time, the need of the present
becomes a real need, which in turn becomes an absolute need. The social policy of the state is focused
on meeting the real needs of the people. Satisfaction of real needs means eating, dressing and living
in an environment that does not harm human health to the extent that it satisfies the members of the
society. This means that with the development of society, material goods increase, and the needs of
the people increase continuously. This means that the needs of the people are infinite. Not only

individuals, but also enterprises, firms and states need material goods. They also need to meet the
levels of consumption of machinery, buildings, warehouses and means of production. Economic
interest is divided into consumption and production interests. While the interest in consumption is
expressed in meeting the needs of members of society, the interest in production is expressed in the
provision of means of production, raw materials for the development of the production process.
