are bound to occur in our society. It is obvious that in any 
society of people living together numerous conflicts of 
interest will arise and that the action of one man or group of 
men will from time to time cause or threaten damage to 
others. This damage may take many forms-injury to the 
person, damage to physical property, damage to financial 
interests, injury to reputation and so on--and whenever a 
man suffers damage he is inclined to look to the law for 
redress....".

Law of Tort, like other branches of the Law is instrumental in maintaining social 
tranquillity. Instead of resorting to private revenge and retaliation, the Law of 
Torts provide the remedies keeps the society off private revenge. In a way Law 
of Tort remedies maintain the stability and cohesiveness of a society 
concerned. We can conveniently summarise some of the areas you will cover in 
your THREE units of the Law of Torts Manual. Our summary would run in the
