The contact area between CNT and fullerene is estimated from direct measurement based on TEM image as shown by red lines. The average contact diameter we measured is around 1.0 nm. An uncertainty of 0.1 nm resulted from the diffusion of the image contrast, which made it difficult to determine accurate edges.
