KİMYA
THE PURPOSE OF ASSIGNING A CHEMISTRY TERM PROJECT FOR THE WILLING STUDENTS:
1) Provide opportunities for students to increase their interest in chemistry by making them study their interest of subject among various chemistry subjects provided for them.
2) Develop the students' essay writing skills.
3) To make the students learn how to make research, use the sources effectively for the purpose of their study, and  cite a source which they used in their study properly.
4) To make the students learn how to avoid plagiarism.
How to avoid plagiarism?
Plagiarism is copying information from a source and presenting it as your own.
You can avoid plagiarism by using one of these three methods:

  1. Paraphrasing: Restating the information by using your own words. You should attribute the paraphrase to the source of it at the end of the paraphrased sentence or paragraph.

  2. Quoting: Giving the original text of the source word by word. The quoted text is usually given in between the quotation marks, “ ……… .“ You should attribute the quoted text to the author of it right after the quotation marks. Rule of thumb: ¾ of your article should be in your own words

  3. Summarizing: Including the main idea(s) of the source in your own words. At the end, you should attribute the summary to the source of it.

Note: You should also provide the source of the pictures, graphs, tables, etc. on the bottom / side of them.
