Synthesis of Nikel(II) and Iron(III) Complexes Using S-alkyl-acetylacetonethiosemicarbazones
In this study, we have been synthesized and characterized of nickel(II) and iron(III) complexes including N2O2 donors atoms by using thiosemicarbazide, metyl halide and acetylacetone. The properties and structures of thiosemicarbazone and its complexes were investigated by elemental analyses and spectroscopic methods (namely, IR, 1H-NMR, EI-MS, UV-vis). Single crystal structures of two complexes were determined by using X-Ray Diffraction Method.
The compounds of this class are known therapeutic properties of bacterial and viral infections, psoriasis, rheumatism and diseases caused by parasites. The biological activity of this class compounds varies depend on the aldehyde or ketone group. In this respect, as well as different substituents in the aromatic rings, the dione compounds such as acetyl acetone used in this study to this class of compounds will contribute to the diversification. In addition, the systematic combinations of nickel (II) and iron (III) complexes obtained by using different aldehydes, compounds of this class of physical, chemical and biological properties will be important for understanding.
