Barrel Analysis Via Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
From the begining of ages, self defence became the main objective of humankind. We named these tools as weapons those are designed for that purpose. Today it is obvious that researching on weaponry to obtain capabilities of not only self defence but also military power should be updated. After inspecting todays tools we will see that most of them developed on the basics of powder combustion.
One of the main problem for many weapons is the recoil force. So important that design parameters of weapon can dramatically change, such as weapon's carriage or drive type, effective range which is one of the most importent criteria.
Because of these facts, this study examined the results of recoil force that is depending on barrel's design by using Fluent CFD code. After solving the base model, analysed few different degins which are modelled to reduce that recoil fore. Findings reported by scalars, contour plots and graphs to obtain a R&D report for such case.
