Green Building Certification Systems And Investigation Of Its Applicability In Turkey It is a known fact that structuring has also an important impact on occurrence of environmental problems at the present time. Structures contributes to the occurrence of environmental problems during the lifecycle starting from the obtaining of the raw material for building till the end of the buildings life time.
For the buildings to be defined as green, they have to fulfill certain standards such as sustainable land planning, water and energy, using of the ecologic material, indoor air quality, health and comfort of the user, the control of transportation and trashes, acoustics and pollution. It is aimed to use the sources productively and reduce the negative impacts of the sources on environment during the process of design and building.
Green buildings evaluation systems and certification programs has an important role in the objective and concrete introduction of the environmental effects of the buildings.
The purpose of this study is to examine the positive impacts of the Sustainable Eco-Friendly Green Buildings as compared with the traditional ones’, and the certification programs evaluating these buildings and applicability of these programs in Turkey.
