Evaluatıon Of The Ecologıcal Balance Water Flowrate Effects On Fısh Passages: Examınatıon Of Hydroelectrıc Energy Plants (Hep) In Rıze Provınce
Fish passages help water creatures to pass over interferences like dams and embankments and they are the structures that facilitate the migration on water sources. Hydroelectric Energy Plants built on the rivers, compromise the immigration of fish and other living creatures in the stream. Ecological Balance Water Flow is known as the rate of the flow in rivers that necessary for the sustainability of its habitat.
Many HEPs has been begun to be established in the Eastern Black Sea Region because of its renewability, low maintaining and operating costs and long physical life. Ecological Balance Water Flow and fish passages in the HEPs of Rize have been examined by the help of the environmental reports and on-site inspections. In this study, it was determined that, in order to protect ecosystems from HEP’s adverse effects, fish passages should be fully functional; ecological balance water flow should be arranged to authentic conditions of drainage basin, and drainage basin planning should be completely prepared.
