Determınatıon of Fısh Parasıtes In Sapanca Dıstrıct Rıvers
This study was carried out to determine parasite fauna of fish which lived in Balıkhane, Mahmudiye and Kurtköy brooks in Sapanca Region between May 2011-April 2012. During the study a total of 343 fish specimens (17 tubenose goby (Proterorhinus marmoratus), 138 minnov (Phoxinus phoxinus), 12 rudd (Scardinius erythrophthalmus), 79 bitterling (Rhodeus amarus), 8 vimba (Vimba vimba), 3 bleak (Alburnus alburnus), 7 rosch (Rutilus rutilus), 44 chub (Squalius cephalus), 4 sand goby (Neogobius fluviatilis), 2 pike (Esox lucius) and 29 black sea chub (Petroleuciscus borysthenicus)) were caught by shocker and examined for parasites.
At result of this study, in freshwater fish which were caught from Balıkhane, Mahmudiye and Kurtköy brooks, six species of parasites (154 Trichodina sp., 1 Costia necatrix (Protozoa); 184 Gyrodactylus sp., 14 Paradiplozoon homoion (Monogenea); 3 Eustrongylides excisus (Nematoda) and 2 Piscicola geometra (Hirudinea)) were identified.
All species of parasites (Gyrodactylus sp., Trichodina sp., Piscicola geometra, Eustrongylides excisus, Costia necatrix, Paradiplozoon homoion) from Balıkhane Brook; two species of parasites (Gyrodactylus sp., Trichodina sp.) from Mahmudiye Brook and four species of parasites (Paradiplozoon homoion, Gyrodactylus sp., Trichodina sp., Piscicola geometra) from Kurtköy Brook were identified.
