Zoology Museum of Istanbul University In this study Amphibia and Reptilia species that are conserved in the Zoology Museum collection of Istanbul University Faculty of Science and were added to the museum collection lately but not examined in terms of taxonomy until today were investigated in terms of morphologic and taxonomic. As a result of taxonomic studies 2 species belong to ordo Urodela (Lissotriton vulgaris, Triturus karelinii) and 3 species belong to ordo Anura (Pseudopedia viridis, Rana dalmatina ve Pelophylax ridibundus) of 5 species that are belonging to classis Amphibia were determined. 15 species belong to ordo Lacertilia (Stellagama stellio, Anguis fragilis, Chamaeleo chamaeleon, Mediodactylus kotschyi, Hemidactylus turcicus, Darevskia valentini, Darevskia praticola, Lacerta agilis, Lacerta viridis, Ophisops elegans, Parvilacerta parva, Podarcis muralis, Podarcis tauricus, Ablepharus kitaibelii, Trachylepis vittata), 5 species belong to ordo Ophidia (Dolichophis jugularis, Natrix natrix, Natrix tessellata, Zamenis hohenackeri and Typhlops vermicularis) of 20 species that are belonging to classis Reptilia were determined.
Among the samples of which the taxonomic status were determined, the species Triturus karelinii, Chamaeleo chamaeleon, Hemidactylus turcicus, Darevskia valentini, Darevskia praticola, Lacerta viridis, Parvilacerta parva, Podarcis tauricus, Ablepharus kitaibelii and Trachylepis vittata were added our museum.
In addition to the taxonomic status, all of the samples which were prepared for exhibition and whose species were known, are added to the species list; as a result total 75 species which three of them are fossil mold were determined.
