Determınatıon of Benthıc Macroınvertebrate Fauna of Istranca

Stream (Durusu-Istanbul)
In this study 3480 individuals of the 2 phyla (Mollusca and Arthropoda) are investigated in 18 stations, which belong to Istranca stream and its branches, by six times sampling on the dates of September - October 2011, December 2011, March 2012, April 2012, June 2012 and August 2012. Consequently 15 orders, 66 families, 80 genera and 105 species are found, belonging to Bivalvia, Gastropoda, Malacostraca and Insecta classes. As an outcome of the study contribution has been made to the fauna of Turkey with 1 genus (Erotesis (Trichoptera)) and 11 species (Arthroplea congener, Leptophlebia marginata, Parameletus chelifer, Rhithrogena germanica (Ephemeroptera); Cordulegaster boltonii, Aeshna caerulea (Odonata); Brachyptera risi, Guadalgenus franzi (Plecoptera); Gerris odontogaster (Hemiptera); Gyrinus (Gyrinus) natator, Esolus angustatus (Coleoptera)). On the other hand 14 genera (Agnetina, Eoperla, Rhabdiopteryx, Capnia, Leuctra (Plecoptera); Hydrochus, Hydaticus, Elmis, Hygrotus (Coleoptera); Leptocerus, Oecetis, Halesus (Trichoptera); Dixa, Wiedemannia (Diptera)) and 11 species (Pisidium casertanum (Bivalvia); Bithynia pesicii (Gastropoda); Siphlonurus lacustris (Ephemeroptera); Libellula quadrimaculata (Odonata); Nepa cinerea, Aquarius najas, Gerris gibbifer (Hemiptera); Gyrinus (Gyrinus) urinator (Coleoptera); Sialis fuliginosa (Megaloptera); Ecnomus tenellus (Trichoptera); Chironomus cingulatus (Diptera)) are new records for the Thrace region
