Analysıs of Pallet Naılıng Machıne By "Desıgn for Manufacturıng" Method The design of the Pallet Nailing Machine has been followed in order to make an alternative to hand-nailing or other sytems which are used for producing pallet, and an expert system has been applied to determine the design criteria. The number of nailing unit, the location of pallet in the machine and the information of the area have been taken into account. An expert sytem program has been developed to determine the design criteria. The Pallet Nailing Machine has been designed in 3D by SolidWorks program. Also, design for manufacturing (DFM) has been investigated using SolidWorks DFMXpert module. Finally, the analyses have been performed explicit and nonlinear via Ansys program.
It was observed that there were dislocations between pieces in the process of nailing when the analyses were performed by Ansys program with explicit analysis. Therefore, a system that provides keeping these pieces together was developed to avoid dislocations, and contact strength needed for the pieces to be combined was calculated. Equivalent tension and force that is needed to move the system was determined by nonlinear analysis using Al Alloy, Ti-55 and Stainless Steel materials.
In conclusion, Al is determined to be the most efficient material.
