Evaluatıon of Unconventıonal Energy Sources Vıa Stochastıc Methods Continuously rising world population brings an ever-increasing demand for energy. Today, energy demand is mostly supplied by the fossil fuels. Unfortunately, the fossil fuels are not only harmful for the environment, but also getting increasingly scarce. Despite these factors, fossil fuels are still heavily being used in electricity production. With the help of latest popular research successes, the use of the unconventional energy resources has become more widespread recently. Among these resources, solar and wind energy systems are most commonly used; and recent developments in Turkey also resemble this. Due to the fact that Turkey is rich in both energy resources, new industrial developments also have been observed in this area.
Our literature survey has shown that the amount of research on wind systems has been increasing recently in Turkey. Lack of any studies with the hidden markov models for prediction can be shown as the most important contribution of our research to the literature.
