| Supplier Selection and Supplier Evaluation System by Analytical Hierarchy Process and a Model in a Garment Company
It is quite important for ready wear companies manufacturing products for their own brands, to deliver products in stores on time, sourcing cost effective products so as to compete with other stores, and offer goods of hight quality to satisfy customer demands. Unless you are able to manage these competitive components, undesired end is near unfortunately
Ready wear / Apparel sector, which is still far behind other sectors such as white goods, banking, automotive in terms of establishing a corporate structure, has currently started using modern management techniques. Other outstanding difficulties in this process are non-recorded data and having employees and managers who have the logic of closed innovation and development.
As ready wear / apparel sector is mainly dependent on labour intensive, human factor could not be negligible. Therefore, many developed and well known European brands interrogate their suppliers within the framework of human rights and their social responsibility, as well as their efficiency.
In this study, a supplier selection and evaluation model has been designed in order to manage the competitive components effectively within the supplier part. In this sense, QUALITY, TIME, COST and ETHICS can be defined as the key concepts of this project. During project preparation, a model is considered as simple to understand and implement towards an academic model. In the process of election, a system is set up which monitors the whole procedure without enabling to change and habitudes of the company however in the process of evaluation, a system is set up which evaluates and measures the objective and critical routes.
