This document summarized the Parallel Entropy Coding ad hoc group activities between the 1^st JCT-VC meeting in Dresden, Germany (15 to 23 April, 2010) and the 2^nd JCT-VC meeting in Geneva, Switzerland (21 to 28 July, 2010).

The different approaches can be categorized as bin-level, syntax-element level & slice-level parallelism. It is not fully clear whether each of these fulfils the same purpose or if coexistence is useful.
