Dalit Halevi, 31/12/17 04:21 The Palestine Committee of the Arab Parliament has prepared a plan of action that opposes Israel's candidacy for the position of a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in the years 2019-2020. This issue was the focus of a meeting in Cairo headed by the President of the Arab Parliament, Meshal Al-Sulami, which discussed the implications of the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The Arab Parliament expressed its full support for the Palestinian Authority's (PA) decision to oppose the American policy and the need to end the split in the Palestinian arena. In addition, the chairman of the Arab parliament was authorized to hold talks with the UN Secretary-General and the UN Human Rights Commissioner to urge them to stop construction in the “settlements” and the alleged human rights violations by Israel. The PA, aided by Arab member states, has continuously taken unilateral actions against Israel at the UN. Most recently, it sought to condemn the U.S. at the UN Security Council following its recognition of Jerusalem. The U.S. vetoed the resolution. In a statement UNESCO chief Audrey Azoulay said she had been officially notified on Friday that Israel would leave on December 31, 2018. “I regret this deeply, as it is my conviction that it is inside UNESCO and not outside it that states can best seek to overcome differences in the organization’s fields of competence,” she said. [For years UNESCO has been abomination when dealing with issues in Israel and complaints have been filed frequently to no avail. Stuff it. –rdb] Azoulay’s announcement came after Israel scrambled to ensure it wouldn’t be forced to remain in the organization for an extra year due to concerns it wouldn’t be able to file the necessary paperwork on time. In a statement Thursday, Israel’s envoy to UNESCO Carmel Shama-Hacohen said that he had made a last-ditch attempt to submit a formal letter announcing Israel’s intent to leave the organization, showing up at the door of the cultural agency’s Paris offices with a box of chocolates along with the paperwork. But he couldn’t find anyone willing to sign for receipt, as the offices were closed for the year-end holidays. However, the Israeli notice was able to reach Azoulay in the end. A week ago Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel would leave the organization, two months after the US formally announced its own withdrawal — partly due to UNESCO’s anti-Israel bias. Channel 10 further reported that this approach was later ratified by US President Donald Trump in internal White House discussions. Channel 10 on Thursday first reported that Israel and the US had secretly signed a far-reaching joint memorandum of understanding providing for full cooperation to deal with Iran’s nuclear drive, its missile programs and its other threatening activities. The document was signed on December 12 at the White House, culminating intensive talks between representatives of the major Israeli and American intelligence and defense hierarchies, headed by the US and Israeli national security advisers, H. R. McMaster and Ben-Shabbat, respectively, the Channel 10 report said.
One such joint team, the report said, will deal with Iranian activity in Syria and Tehran’s support for the Hezbollah terror organization. Another joint team will deal with both diplomatic and intelligence activities designed to grapple with Iran’s nuclear weapons ambitions. A third joint team, it was reportedly agreed, would grapple with Iran’s ballistic missile program and its efforts to build accurate missile systems in Syria and Lebanon. Finally, a fourth team would oversee preparation for any escalation by Iran and/or Hezbollah. McMaster and Ben-Shabbat signed the joint document, the TV report said, quoting a “senior US government” source and “senior Israeli officials.” Quoting the Israeli officials, Channel 10 said that the meeting confirmed that the US and Israel “see eye to eye on the trends and processes in the region,” and have now reached agreement on the strategy and policy required to deal with them.

It calls for setting up a not-for-profit organization whose board will be made up of government officials and donors from abroad, the report said. The board will oversee the first major “civil-society infrastructure servicing the State of Israel and the pro-Israel community in the fight against the de-legitimization of Israel,” the notice sent to ministers read. The $75 million budget will come partly from the government and partly from Jewish donors and communities abroad, the report said. It did not say when the new organization would become operational or even established formally. But the initial funding to the tune of $36 million will come from the budget of the Public Diplomacy Ministry under Gilad Erdan. At least 10 Jewish philanthropists have pledged to at least match that sum, with some promising to give $2 and $3 to any dollar put in by the Israeli government beyond the initial funding, according to the report. The organization envisaged by its creators would operate on a regular basis to counter pressure applied to artists, performers and commercial enterprises not to engage with Israel. But it would shift into high gear at sensitive periods such as fighting, waves of terrorist attacks, and anti-Israel votes at international forums, the announcement stated.

Riots were reported in nine different locations along the Gaza border, with demonstrators hurling rocks at Israeli security forces and in some instances attempting to damage the border fence, the army said. Trump has described his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital as merely based on reality. He has stressed that the final status of the city is up for negotiation in any future peace talks. It has allowed thousands of Gazans to confront Israeli troops at the Gaza border fence regularly since the announcement. The rockets were fired at the Sha’ar Hanegev and Sdot Hanegev regions of southern Israel on Friday afternoon. The document also disclosed that the Brotherhood supported terrorist groups in Egypt by transferring massive amounts of money for them to purchase weapons and explosives. The money is transferred to terrorists through intermediaries to implement suicide attacks. The Brotherhood is currently in contact with Egyptians in Syria to facilitate entering Egypt, in particular Sinai, to carry out terrorist operations. State television showed large crowds of black-clad supporters gathering in the capital Tehran, second city Mashhad and elsewhere to mark the anniversary of the end of “the sedition” — the last major unrest that followed disputed elections in 2009. It was a coincidence that the pre-planned rallies came just after anti-government protests, which had spread from Mashhad on Thursday to numerous towns across the country. Some 500 police officers took part in simultaneous raids to detain the suspects, many of them foreign nationals, the Anadolu Agency reported. Police had warrants to detain 17 other suspects. Materials seized by police during the raids indicated that some of the suspects had staked out locations and made preparations for possible attacks on New Year’s Eve, the report said. Additionally, Istanbul will deploy more than 40,000 members of the security forces for the night of New Year’s Eve, one year after a deadly attack on a nightclub claimed 39 lives, including one Israeli, its governor said. Istanbul governor Vasip Shain said that 37,000 police and 4,000 members of the gendarmerie and coast guard would be deployed on the night of December 31-January 1 to ensure security. “We are taking very serious security measures to ensure that our citizens, God willing, see in the New Year in peace and security,” he said, quoted by the Dogan news agency. He said that entertainment venues had been told to have their own private security officials on hand and if the precautions were inadequate then police would be deployed. Turkey has suffered a series of deadly attacks blamed on Islamic State terrorists. Of the 39 killed in the Reina attack, 27 were foreigners, including citizens from Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Morocco who had gone to the club to celebrate New Year. According to the indictment, 79 people were wounded. One of the victims was 19-year-old Lian Zaher Nasser, from the Arab-Israeli town of Tira. Her friend Ro’a Mansour, 18, was wounded in the attack.
The authorities have banned any New Year celebrations in Taksim Square in the heart of the European side of the city, while a similar measure has been imposed for the lively district of Besiktas. Saeed is on the United Nations and United States' list of recognized terrorists, at India's request. The rally was intended to exert pressure on Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to convene an Islamic summit meeting to "defend Jerusalem from Israel." Residents of a town in Canada decided not to rename a street that is currently named “Swastika Trail.” Last week, the Puslinch Township in Ontario voted 4-1 against changing the name of the privately owned road, The Canadian Press reported. Two months ago, the neighborhood association voted to keep the name. Following that vote, two couples living on the street reached out to B’nai Brith Canada, a Jewish advocacy group, for advice on how to convince the town to change the name. In November, B’nai Brith opened an online petition calling on township officials to change the street’s name. According to the anonymous source, the scientist was part of a group of defectors who were detained in China’s Shenyang city on November 4 and sent back on November 17. After being taken into solitary confinement ahead of his interrogation at a state security building in the northwestern city of Sinuiju, just a few miles from the Chinese border, the man took a poison that he'd somehow concealed from the guards, the source said. The scientist worked as a researcher at Pyongyang’s State Academy of Sciences, the institute that initiated the country’s nuclear weapons program in the 1950s. He had taken a leave of absence, the source said, “because he was showing signs of anxiety over his research projects.” He then apparently made the journey from Pyongyang to relatives in the border region without valid travel documents—North Koreans can only travel around the country once they are in possession of a government-issued pass—and disappeared after learning the authorities were looking for him, the source told RFA. The vast majority, like Ali, are young men. And the largest number of these migrants spend their days idling in Amsterdam. On Thursday morning, Saleh Ali took a walk to trendy Amstelveenseweg while wearing a keffiyah and waving a terrorist PLO flag. He stopped in front of a Jewish restaurant, shouted “Allahu Akbar” and began smashing the windows. The Amsterdam police stood by and watched quizzically until he was done. Then when he entered the restaurant, they finally called him out and arrested him. And in two days he was back on the street. Amsterdam is a very tolerant place. Not just of drugs or prostitution, but of Islamic violence. Saleh Ali had lied about his past to get his temporary residence permit while claiming to be a refugee. He had combat training and had fought with Jihadists in and out of Syria. He told the police that he had been prepared to die in the attack on the restaurant and that he will continue engaging in violence. But this information was kept secret until an anonymous source in the police department leaked it. The lawyer for HaCarmel, the restaurant that had been assaulted by the Islamic terrorist, issued a statement expressing outrage that the attacker who had pledged to commit more attacks was back on the street. “It is incomprehensible and shocking that this man with a terrorist background, who claims to be prepared to commit violence, has been released,” wrote Herman Loonstein, a lawyer and Jewish civil rights activist. He warned that the attacker poses “a serious danger to society.” And the prosecutor’s office took immediate action by filing a complaint against the restaurant’s lawyer. The Chief Officer of the Public Prosecution Service objected that, “sharing of information from the police interrogation report is ’inappropriate’". It’s inappropriate because it revealed that Saleh Ali should never have been in the Netherlands and that the authorities had stood around watching while a trained terrorist attacked a Jewish restaurant and then let him go even after he vowed to launch further attacks. While the prosecutors went after the restaurant for exposing the terrorist past of the attacker, the attacker was headed back to court for an appearance before a three judge panel. Saleh Ali wore camouflage to court. According to Matthys van Raalten, a conservative commentator, he told the court that, “he feels like a volcano that is waiting to erupt”. He had already informed an officer that “the attack on the kosher restaurant was only the “first step” and that a next step would come. He refused to discuss what the next step would be. So of course they let him go a second time. “If we assume that this person is a danger to society, we will not just put this person on the street,” the Public Prosecution Service claimed. But what more could Saleh Ali possibly do to prove he’s a danger to society? He’s a Jihadist with weapons training who staged a violent attack, expressed a willingness to die during the attack, and promised that he would carry out future attacks, both to the police and the court. Ali showed off a Koran, threatened violence and so the authorities, as they often do, decided that he might be suffering from psychological problems. And so the court released him for three months while a psychiatrist and a psychologist take turns trying to exonerate him on the grounds of mental illness. Mental illness is a popular defense for Islamic terrorists in Europe. A Muslim terrorist stabbed four people at a train station near Munich while screaming, “Allahu Akbar”. He shouted that his victims were all “unbelievers” and, “Infidel, you must die”. The German authorities blamed mental illness. In Russia, Gyulchekhra Bobokulova beheaded a 4-year-old girl and displayed her head in the street while shouting, “Allahu Akbar. I hate democracy. I am a terrorist. I want you dead.” The Russian authorities decided that this could only mean mental illness. In France, Karim Cheurfi had been investigated for terrorism activities for months. The French police had questioned him about his threats to kill police officers. Finally he opened fire on police officers in the Champs-Élysées. ISIS claimed credit for the attack. So of course his former lawyer claimed that he wasn't an Islamic terrorist, but suffered from a “psychologically fragile character”. When Kobili Traore attacked Sarah Halimi, the 66-year-old director of an Orthodox Jewish nursery in Paris, while shouting, "Allahu Akbar", the police refused to do anything until she was thrown out of a window. The authorities then tried to blame the Muslim killer’s actions on "psychiatric problems." Abdellah rammed his car into three Chinese students near a campus in a suburb of Toulouse. He told the police, “I am on a mission” and revealed that he had planned the attack for a month. The prosecutor insisted that it wasn’t terrorism. "What matters in this case is the psychiatric profile,” he said. And you can bet that by the time the farce is done, Saleh Ali will also have a “psychiatric profile”. Sympathetic shrinks will reveal that he has a “psychologically fragile character” because his mother didn’t love him and his father was unimpressed by his Jewish restaurant window smashing skills. The video and the police leak undermined the plot to pass Saleh Ali off as another poor, mentally ill terrorist whom only cruel bigots would accuse of being an anti-Semitic Jihadist. But Saleh is still back on the street. The court warned him to stay away from the Jewish restaurant he had already attacked. Geert Wilders, the leader of the Freedom Party, declared that the authorities are putting “innocent Dutch people in great danger by letting terrorists run around freely.” And Saleh Ali is one of thousands of Syrian migrants who are being allowed to run around freely. The authorities did everything they could to cover up his attack. Not only did they let a Jihadist stay in the Netherlands, but the Amsterdam police watched as he smashed up a Jewish restaurant. Then he was released twice, despite vowing violence twice, and the only meaningful action in this case was taken against a Jewish civil rights activist who had revealed his terrorist past and his threats of future violence. According to Ali’s lawyer, the terrorist won’t carry out future attacks in the Netherlands. And he will only use violence in “self-defense”. Like defending himself against the windows of a Jewish eatery. But according to the lawyer, Ali only smashed the windows when he got mad that the door was closed. The anti-Semitic terrorist’s lawyer insisted that his client has nothing against Jews, but actually likes living in a place where different religions can co-exist. Of course his idea of interfaith coexistence is being able to practice his Islamic religious beliefs about attacking Jews while everyone in the Netherlands practices their secular religion of tolerating Islamic violence. Saleh Ali’s case is one of many. It stands out because his attack was caught on video. And because the police leak told us the rare truth about an Islamic terrorist’s actual motivation before the authorities could begin dissecting his “psychologically fragile character”. The Netherlands, like many European countries, has welcomed in Syrian refugees and other Muslim migrants. And then it’s done its best to cover up the violence that they brought with them. Amsterdam’s authorities have behaved the way that the Cologne police did after the mass migrant sexual assaults on New Year’s Eve. The police did little to stop them and the authorities denied everything. It was only when police sources leaked the truth about the assaults that the authorities were forced to put on a show of doing something. And that’s just as true in Amsterdam and across Europe. European governments would rather tolerate terrorists than fight them. The No-Go Zone isn’t just a place; it’s a state of mind. The No-Go Zone is anywhere that Islamic supremacism is asserted with no meaningful resistance from law enforcement. The No-Go Zone can appear at any moment near you. It can be a Jewish restaurant in a trendy Dutch neighborhood or New Year’s Eve celebrations outside a German cathedral. It’s anywhere that Muslim violence is tolerated and protected from criticism. Saleh Ali and all his fellow colonists know that the European authorities can’t and won’t resist them.
