Genesis 3:4-5 “You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Hmmm. You mean the teaching of man being the center of all things, determining his own destiny, in fact being his own god started with satan? That would be a yup. So is it any wonder that there’s been a massive Rise of Wickedness just like the Bible said would happen in the last days? In fact, Paul Harvey warned about this subversion nearly 50 years ago. I think we should’ve listened to him! If I Were The Devil by Paul Harvey If I were the Devil…if I were the Prince of Darkness, I’d want to engulf the whole world in darkness and I would have a third of its real estate and four-fifths of its population, but I wouldn’t e happy until i had seized the ripest apple on the tree, thee. So I’d set about however necessary to take over the United States. I’d subvert the churches first. I’d begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of the serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: ‘Do as you please.’ To the young, I would whisper that the Bible is a myth. I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what is bad is good, and what is good is ‘square’. And the old, I would teach to pray after me: ‘Our Father, which art in Washington.’ And then, I’d get organized. I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting. I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies and vice versa. I’d peddle narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills. If I were the devil, I’d soon have families at war with themselves, churches at war with themselves, and nations at war with themselves until each in its turn was consumed. And with promises of higher ratings, I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames. If I were the devil, I would encourage schools to refine young intellects but neglect to discipline emotions – just let those run wild until before you knew it, you’d have to have drug-sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door. Within a decade, I’d have prisons overflowing. I’d have judges promoting pornography. Soon I could evict god from the courthouse, and then from the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of Congress. And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion and deify science. I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls and church money. If I were the devil, I’d make the symbol of Easter and egg and the symbol of Christmas a bottle. If I were the devil, I would take from those who have and i would give to those who wanted, until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. And what will you bet I couldn’t get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich. I would caution against extremes in hard work, in patriotism, in moral conduct. I would convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what you see on TV is the way to be and thus i could undress you in public, and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure. In other words, if I were the devil, I’d just keep right on doing what he’s doing.”9 Now folks, maybe it’s just me, but it looks like the devil has been pretty successful in his agenda, hasn’t he? And he’s been using humanism to get the job done! (BREAK: PART 17) But that’s still not all. The 2nd reason why we turned from a Christian Nation into this Rise of Wickedness we see today is by the promotion of a Wicked Teaching. That’s right, I’m talking about atheism. And people we need to wake up and realize that this atheism has been spawned by another lie in our schools, other than humanism, and this one’s called evolution. And as we saw before that’s not only a lie, but the premise of it is that there is no God, we have no hope and no future, and we came from nowhere! And it’s precisely this lie of evolution, as you can tell, that has spawned these atheistic ideals, these God-hating ideals, that have actually aided in this massive rise of wicked behavior that we see today. But don’t take my word for it. Let’s listen to God’s. He told us this is exactly what was going to happen! Romans 1:18-32 “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator – Who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” Now folks, does that sound like our society today or what? Uh huh, slightly! And the point is this! Where did all this wicked behavior get spawned from? From suppressing the truth about God’s existence, you know evolution. Don’t they say there is no God? Don’t they suppress this truth about God’s existence in our schools and in the media and in Hollywood with their lie? Of course! Which I always found interesting. Why do you fight against something so hard that you say you don’t believe in? I mean, why don’t you just leave the rest of us to our illusion if that’s what you say you really believe in, right? Unless of course, deep down inside, you know there is a God, like the Bible says, you have no excuse, and the real reason is you don’t want there to be a God because you want to be your own god and do whatever wicked thing you come up with. And that’s precisely what the text says! And so what happened? What did God do? GOD GAVE YOU OVER to your wicked desires! You don’t want there to be a God? Fine! Have it your way! You’ll learn the hard way what happens to a society that no longer wants Him! You immediately went after sexual impurity, shameful lusts, homosexuality, you became filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity, murder, envy, strife, deceit, and malice and you became gossips, you became slanderers, you became God-haters, insolent, arrogant, boastful, disobedient to your parents, senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless, and it even got so bad that you even invented new ways of doing evil. Why? Because you had the audacity to say there is no God, just like what evolution teaches, and so as an act of Judgment from God He gave you over to your atheistic wicked desires and your society started to fall apart! And tell me that’s not what’s exactly happening today. Every single one of those wicked behaviors, is not only commonplace in our society right now but it stems from what? An atheist mindset created by the lie of evolution. “Why did we fall? How did our Great and Mighty Christian Nation turn into a society of such great wickedness and rebellion?” I’ll tell you why! Because we allowed the infiltration of a wicked teaching into our school system…other than humanism called evolution, they go hand in hand, and it too, like humanism, was a deliberate attack to subvert our Nation! And for those of you who don’t believe me, that these atheistic teachings of evolution have really spawned this wicked behavior since they were introduced into our school system, let’s take a look at the official behavioral statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau from about 1963 on, which is, again, when evolution became prominent in our school system. Let’s see what happened.
Now folks, maybe it’s just me, but I’d say the effects of evolutionary teaching hasn’t had a very good impact on our country, how about you? And is it really a surprise? No wonder our world is so stinking hopeless. Think about it! What are they saying to people? They say you are nothing, you came from nothing, and you have no future! Hello! That’s hopeless! And the reason why it creates this hopelessness is because what you believe determines how you behave! And as you saw, if we teach kids they came from an ape, why are we shocked when they act like apes? If you say there is no meaning or purpose to life, why are we so shocked when they so flippantly take a life? If you drill into their heads from wee high the lie that there is no God why are we shocked when they act ungodly? It’s a direct correlation! What you believe determines how you behave! That’s the fruit of this atheistic lie called evolution! And even though God clearly warned us that your society will totally fall apart when you give into this lie and reject Him, people take one look at our wicked society and point a finger back at God and blame Him! They say, “Why God why? Why are you doing this! Why are you allowing this happen? Why? Why? Why?” as if He’s the one to blame when in reality, here’s the real culprit. Check this out. How did this get started? I think it started when Madelyne Murray-O’Hare complained that she didn’t want any prayer in our schools and we said “Okay”. Then someone said you’d better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says, “Thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal and love your neighbor as yourself” and we said, “Okay”. Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave because their personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem. And we said, “An expert should know what know what he’s talking about, so we won’t spank them anymore.” Then someone said teachers and principals better no discipline our children when they misbehave and the school administrators said “No faculty member in this school better touch a student when they misbehave because we don’t want any bad publicity and we surely don’t want to be sued.” And we accepted their reasoning. Then someone said let’s let our daughters have abortions if they want and they won’t even have to tell their parents. And we said, “That’s a grand idea.” Then some wise school board member said, “Since boys will be boys and their going to do it anyway, let’s give our sons all the condoms they want so they can have all the fun they desire and we won’t have to tell their parents they got them at school” And we said, “That’s another great idea”. Then some of our top elected officials said, “It doesn’t matter what we do in private as long we do our jobs.” And we said, “It doesn’t matter what anybody, including the president, does in private as long as we have jobs and the economy is good.” And someone else took that appreciation a step further and published pictures of nude children and then steps further by making them available on the internet. And we said, ‘Everyone is entitled to free speech.’ And the entertainment industry said, “Let’s make TV shows and movies that promote profanity, violence and illicit sex, and let’s record music that encourages rape, drugs, murder, suicide and satanic themes. And we said, “It’s just entertainment and it has no adverse effect and nobody takes it seriously anyway, so go right ahead” Now we are asking ourselves why are our children have no conscience. Why they don’t know right from wrong and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, classmates, or even themselves. Undoubtedly if we thought about it long and hard enough. We could figure it out. Surely it has a great deal to do with, ‘We reap what we sow.’”11 “Why God why? Why are you doing this! Why are you allowing this happen? Why? Why? Why?” It ain’t Him…it’s us! We kicked Him out of our schools! We kicked Him out of our courtrooms and we kicked Him out of our Government! And we allowed a wicked teaching into our school system called evolution and it’s producing this atheistic mindset that’s giving birth to all this wickedness! It’s that simple! Therefore, if there’s any hope for our nation, we have got to get busy kicking God back into our school system, back into our court rooms, and back into our Government and seek His blessing again, amen? But that’s not all. The 3rd reason we turned from a Christian Nation into this Rise of Wickedness we see today is by the promotion of a Wicked Attack. That’s right! I’m talking about militant atheism. You see, apparently folks, it’s not enough to just promote these atheistic ideas in our schools and media through the lie of evolution. These people, these atheists will not rest until this God-hating lie is permeated in all levels of society utterly destroying us like Romans 1 said would happen! They are militant about it and it keeps on inviting more and more of the wrath of God upon us. They will not rest until every single memory, every last aspect, every last trace of Historical proof of our great Christian Heritage is totally wiped out, including the existence of God! And the 1st attack by these militant atheists is upon The Character of God. Revelation 4:8-11 “Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, Who was, and is, and is to come.” Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to Him Who sits on the throne and Who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and worship Him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: ”You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being.” Now folks, I don’t know how you can get any clearer than this but the Bible clearly says that God is not only Holy, Holy, Holy, when it comes to His character, but He’s clearly the One Who created us, right? Of course! He created all things! And how many of you guys would say that God, being the Creator of all things and Infinitely Holy without sin, absolutely perfect, demands a certain amount of respect, you know what I’m saying? But not anymore! Thanks to these militant atheists, we are now being told not only the lie that there is no God, but they’ve even gone so far as to say that following God’s Righteous Holy Character is something bad for us, including our kids. Believe it or not folks, they’ve even replaced things like Vacation Bible School with atheists camps for kids, and they now have opportunities for adults to de-baptize themselves with a hair dryer. Don’t believe me? Check this out! “(Trumpet blowing) WAKE UP! Reporter: It may be the summer holiday but there’s no time to lie in bed at Camp Quest. Twenty-four children aged 7-17 attacking critical thinking, rationaling query and a scientific approach to the world in a range of summer camp activities. They will also learn cooperation, tolerance and empathy. All in an atmosphere guaranteed free of religious propaganda. Most of the parents are atheists who want their children to learn ethical behavior but separate from religion. Samantha Stein: I think that people are possibly getting tired of the influence that religion has in society, possibly an unearned influence um and trying to come up with alternatives. You got to be kidding me? And we have the audacity to ask, “Why God why? Why are you doing this! Why are you allowing this happen? Why is this going on! Why is our society going down the tubes?” I’ll tell you why! Because we’ve allowed militant atheists to attack the Character of God and therefore we’re under His judgment! And it is high time that we the Church stand up and speak up against this atheistic nonsense if there’s any hope for our nation! Amen? Oh but that’s not all. And that’s always amazed me. Why is it when people smash their hand with a hammer they don’t cry out, “Buddha, Buddha, Buddha!” Or when somebody cuts them off the road they don’t yell, “Ah Muhammad” Why is it always Jesus Christ? I don’t think it’s by chance because if you combine it with Philippians 2 says that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord over all including satan and the demons and the fact that it’s only through the Name of Jesus Christ that we can even be saved from hell. That’s what precisely what the enemy would do! Turn the blessed Name of Jesus Christ into a common cuss word when it’s worthy of utter respect! And that’s precisely what these militant atheists are doing! They’re not only encouraging us to speak the Name of God in vain as a common cuss word, even to our kids, but the Name of Jesus Christ is utterly blasphemed! Don’t believe me? Check this out! “The Ten Commandments given to us by God warns that we should treat even the mention of His name with great awe and respect, never using it in a casual or disrespectful way. The Old Testament saints took this command very seriously. Insisting that Scribes wash their hands and use a new pen when even writing the name of God. Many of the Jews were even afraid to say it out loud in any circumstance. Choosing, instead to refer to it indirectly as “The Name.” Contrast that to our day. To a time when God as an act of incomprehensible grace and mercy chose to fully reveal Himself in Christ as Immanuel-”God With Us” and has given us the true Name of the LORD our God. The only “Name under heaven given to men by which we may be saved” Acts 4:12. The Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
