Consideration should be given to personnel who may be in the immediate vicinity of
activities where
eye protection is necessary, as stray particles / objects may be carried outside the
immediate areas of
work.
Additional eye protection shall be worn for specific tasks i.e. hot work activities welding and grinding
and these may be found in the Project Hot Work Procedure Doc No SA-SWZZZZ-HS-PRO.
The handling/working with certain hazardous substances also requires
additional eye protection

6.4 Hearing
Protection
Exposure of personnel to excessive noise over a prolonged period can result in permanent
impairment of hearing. Suitable ear protectors (e.g.
ear plugs, head muffs, etc.) will be
provided and
should be worn by personnel exposed to high noise levels. Such protectors will be maintained and
kept in good order by the wearer.
Areas subjected to consistently high noise levels (above 85dB) will be marked
as ear protection zones
(as far as is reasonably practicable).
